Procedure

Apply in Person

1. To apply for renewal of Tourist Vehicle Permit (Jeep/Omni/Car) in New Delhi the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to.

3. Application form can be downloaded using the following link: Application forms And Parivahan Forms Link
   
4. Make sure you have completed respective application Form
   
5. Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
   
6. Please make sure that you are eligible for this procedure
   
7. Application forms can also be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that can be completed and presented with appropriate fees.
   
8. Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
   
9. Important verification’s for the permit includes Vehicle condition, Body built, seating arrangements etc... Will be carried by authorities.
   
10. After checking the vehicle for its correctness and other appropriate requirements the application will be processed further.
    
    

Apply Online

1. Use the following link to reach the online portal for processing: online portal
   
2. When home page opens, user will have option to login or register into application.
   
3. If you are a new user, then use the registration tab on top of the screen to register. Just fill the prompted queries like name, email, mobile etc, and you will be authenticated for your email address to give user id and password.
   
4. Being a registered user, one can select login option provided on the top of the screen.
   
5. In the new page please enter the user id and password. Followed by “captcha” and hit submit to get the new page.
   
6. Here. Please select “Renewal of permit” under online permit menu to get the new screen.
   
7. In the screen given, please enter vehicle registration number, Last five digits of chassis number and registered mobile number then hit generate OTP.
   
8. Please fill in the received OTP in the given box and hit submit to get a page with information of owner and vehicle.
9. Now please follow the screen prompts as appropriate to finish the online process for renewal of permit
   
   

Appointment

1. As you process above procedure, there will be a list of menu on the left side of the screen and select “Appointment” option to get option to process.
   
2. Please enter the application number on the box provided to get information on details of applicant and others.
   
3. Please select the calendar icon next to “select date” to choose slot for appointment
   
   

Upload documents

1. Please select DMS(Upload Docs) option listed on the left side of the screen to reach new page
   
2. In the new page upload the required documents as prompted and hit submit to complete the document uploading

3. Registration Certificate of the vehicle.
   
4. Fitness Certificate.
   
5. Proof of payment of tax for the current Quarter.
   
6. Insurance Certificate.
   
7. No object certificate from the financier if the vehicle concerned is covered by HPA / Lease / Hypothecation.
   
8. Payment of green tax wherever applicable.
   
9. Passport size photo-2

Validity

A tourist vehicle permit shall be valid for...

1. 9 years in the case of a motor cab (passenger not exceeding 6 excluding driver)
   
2. 8 years for vehicles other than a motor cab
   
3. unless the motor vehicle is replaced
   
4. In case of a vehicle covered by a tourist permit is proposed to be replaced by another vehicle, the new vehicle age should not be more than two years
   

• NOTE: The period [9 years or 8 years] shall be computed from the date of initial registration of the motor vehicle.

Need for the Document

The vehicle permit should be renewed as and when it has expired or about to expire in order to use the vehicle for tourist rental purpose

• As per Central Motor Vehicle Rules of 1989, Tourist Vehicle Permit is granted to owners whose vehicles are used for tourism purposes.
  
• Tourist Vehicle Permit (Jeep/Omni/Car) is needed for a tourist vehicle operator for the vehicle to carry passengers on a rental basis from one place to another
  
• This motor vehicle are constructed or adapted to carry allowed number of passengers as per permit, but not more than the allowed number of passengers, excluding the driver for hire purpose

• An operator with Tourist Vehicle Permit (Jeep/Omni/Car) should not allow more than allowed number of passengers in his vehicle
  
• Proper payment of fees is required to travel in other states other than the permitted state
