Manipur - How to Pay Electricity Bill

Electricity bill payment for the electricity consumed by a consumer shall be paid to the respective state electricity board (department).
“Manipur State Power Distribution Company Ltd.” (MSPDCL) is the electricity regulation board in the state of Mizoram.
Payment of electricity bill shall be paid through
1. Cash counters of respective electricity board office
2. Online portal – Web Self Service
3. Pay through other sources

Tariff:

There are different amount charged for residential and commercial users. The rate of per unit charge varies with state to state and as per the slab decided by the respective electricity board.

Pay in person

Consumers shall pay their electricity bill in person at the respective Electricity Bill counter.

Please use the following contact numbers and speak to the executive to find the local bill counter.

Go to the respective counter and pay your bill amount along with the bill to make payment.
The counter staff will issue you the receipt for the payment made

Pay online – State Portal

In order to pay online, please use the following link: Online Portal Link. please select postpaid recharge option under Payment option to reach next page.
New page prompts user to enter the Consumer Account Number, please enter here your consumer Account number and then hit “Proceed” to get in to the next page
Here, details pertaining to Consumer number will be displayed. User shall enter / select as per screen prompt to reach successive page for making payment.
Once you reach the payment gateway page, please select the type of payment (Credit / Debit / Net Banking) and provide required details at prompted places and hit make payment to reach the successive page.
User should follow the screen prompt for the payment mode selected to complete online payment transaction.
Once the payment is accepted, user will get a transaction acknowledgment. Please keep it saved or printed for future reference.

Prepaid Recharge

Users can use the following link to recharge their Prepaid Meter : Prepaid recharge link please select Prepaid recharge option under Payment option to reach next page.
User will get page with options to choose for making prepaid recharge. Following steps are meant for “Genus Meter Make”. So, select the “genus Meter Make” option to go to the respective page
User will be prompted to enter consumer Id in the box given and to click on Proceed tab to get the details of the account as a new page.
User has to enter the email id at the prompted box and hit Validate tab. A drop down detail for amount to enter and also to select the payment option will be provided. Please enter / select appropriately and hit “proceed to pay” to reach the payment gateway page.
In the payment gateway page, please select the type of payment (Credit / Debit / Net Banking) and provide required details at prompted places and hit make payment to reach the successive page.
User should follow the screen prompt for the payment mode selected to complete online payment transaction.
Once the payment is accepted, user will get a transaction acknowledgement. Please keep it saved or printed for future reference.

Other Apps to pay

Users shall use the private App’s to make payment of electricity bill. Please make sure with the respective department officials to confirm about these service providers to make payment.
Electricity bill can be paid through following apps Phonepe, Paytm, Amazon, Freecharge, Mobikwik etc,.

BBPS (Bharath Bill Payment System)

Use the following link to pay at your area BBPS outlet as per pin code: BBPS outlet link
Please select “find nearest Bharat BillPay outlet” option provided at the bottom of the page.
enter your pin code at the box provided and hit “Go” to reach the next page with contact details. Please follow the page to get the details of payment outlet and pay their directly

Please select the Respective electricity department and follow the screen prompt and proceed further to make the payment

Apply through app

To Pay Electricity Bill, the applicant can download any type of payment app like Gpay link, Phonepe link, amazon pay link, Paytm link.
The applicant has to download the app by using the link.
First the applicant needs to completed the registration process.
For registration enter the mobile number and in registered number the applicant gets the OTP number.
Enter the OTP code and add on the bank account in the app.
For paying electricity bill, the applicant has to search for Manipur Electricity Board.
To link the electricity account in the app, the applicant has to enter the consumer number.
- NOTE: Format of the consumer number – “Regional code, section distribution, and service number.
And enter the name (optional), and add the registered mobile number which is given in the electricity board.
The applicant gets the monthly payment amount.
Now, the applicant has to click the “Pay” button and enter the amount.
Enter the UPI password and the payment will be processed.
There is no fee for this app.
The processing time for this procedure is within a minute.

EligibilityEdit

The individual should be a resident of the state.
Consumers are eligible to pay the electricity bill.
Every applicant has to have a meter reading to calculate consumption

FeesEdit

Electricity bills are generated with the slab rates applicable for the units consumed as per the state regulations
As a consumer, it is mandatory to pay prescribed amount as advised by respective board. (even the electricity is not consumed, each states has different default charges levied to its active consumers and the same has to be paid)

ValidityEdit

The electricity bill generated for the period has to be paid before the due date.
There will be a penalty for late payment. Authorities has the power to suspend the connection
This payment is valid for the consumed electricity units
