Maharashtra - How to Book Mumbai Suburban Season Ticket

Apply In Person

  1. To Book Mumbai Suburban Season Ticket, the applicant has to visit the Mumbai Suburban Western Railway – link
  2. The applicant has to visit the station counter to get the ticket.
  3. The applicant can purchase First Class and Second Class single tickets, renewal and return season tickets, and #Platform tickets for adults and children.
  4. Also, the applicant can buy the smart card to purchase the ticket from the Automatic Ticket Vending Machine (ATVM).
  5. Smart Card can be bought from booking offices located at all suburban stations and recharged according to the requirements.
  6. There are no any required documents needs to be submitted.
  7. The fee for this procedure is mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
  8. The processing time for this procedure is within an hour.

Online

  • You should be a registered user of irctc website before you book the ticket.
  • Quarterly and Monthly season tickets can be booked through Internet.
  • Any type of Concessional season tickets will NOT be booked through Internet. Currently, Internet booking is allowed only for Adult passengers.
  • For new users, a sign up link is available on the login page of website https://www.irctc.co.in/nget/train-search
  • Fill the registration form.The passenger has to select the option for Mumbai Suburban Season ticket while registering. You will be registered for Mumbai suburban season ticket and you can login and book the Mumbai suburban season tickets.
  • Existing users who wish to book Mumbai Suburban season tickets have to update their profile by selecting the option for Mumbai suburban season ticket in the registration page.
  • Booking through Internet is allowed from 03:00 AM to 11:00 PM (Indian Standard Time) on all days including Sundays.
  • For season tickets to be delivered at your residence by courier, there must be two calendar days between the booking date and the travel date.
  • You should display the identity proof and transaction id of your ticket for verification to the courier executive.
  • The delivery of season tickets through courier is limited to postal addresses covered by the pin codes listed under the link "Places of Delivery." This delivery of season Tickets through courier is limited to the following places.

Apply through app

  1. To Book Mumbai Suburban Season Ticket, the applicant has to download the UTS app from the following link – link
  2. First the applicant has to sign in the app through the mobile number followed by enter the OTP number.
  3. After login the applicant can book the tickets, season tickets, journey tickets, and Platform tickets.
  4. The applicant can use the E- wallet for ticket payment.
  5. The fee for this procedure is mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
  6. While travelling, the applicant has to show the ticket by phone.
  7. The processing time for this procedure is within an hour.

EligibilityEdit

To book and to use a Season ticket, a passenger must possess and carries while traveling an ID card issued by the Railway for Suburban travel. The number of the ID card has to be provided when booking a Season ticket and this will be printed on the Season ticket. If the Identity card number printed on the Season ticket of the passenger does not match the number of the original Identity card carried by the passenger, he/she will be treated as passenger traveling without ticket and dealt with accordingly.

Charges vary from source to destination. Please select the source and destination to estimate the prices for quarterly and monthly season tickets in the website as a registered user.



ValidityEdit

Based on the type of season pass, the validity varies from one month to three months. Season ticket can be renewed 10 days in advance of the date of expiry.

  • You can obtain a season ticket by applying in person.
  • You should have Government recognized identification documents such as Passport / Voter photo identity card issued by Election Commission of India / Driving License issued by RTO / Pan Card issued by Income Tax Department / Photo Identity card having serial number issued by Central / State Government / Student Identity Card with photograph issued by recognized School/College for their students / Nationalized Bank Passbook with photographs / Credit Cards issued by Banks with laminated photograph /Unique Identification Card "Aadhaar / Photo identity cards having serial number issued by public sector Undertakings of State/Central Government, District Administrations

Need for the DocumentEdit

If you are a regular traveler in Mumbai who travels by local train and not by bus, auto rickshaw, consider having a season pass for less expenditure than buying tickets for a higher expenditure. The central railways introduced rail pass as season ticket for regular travelers. Visit the railway website for more information. You can obtain a Mumbai Suburban season ticket in any railway station in Mumbai. You can travel in Second class and First class coaches in the suburban trains. Only, quarterly and monthly seasons are booked at the counters and online. Every season ticket will have the Identity card number printed in it. If the Identity card printed on the Season ticket of the passenger does not match with original Identity card, passenger will be treated as passenger traveling without tickets and dealt with accordingly. You cannot cancel the season tickets through internet.
