Apply In-Person
- Applicants shall visit the nearby government office (corporation office, municipal office, panchayat office, etc) to apply for the duplicate trade license. The municipal commissioner or executive officer is responsible. [Refer the office contact details in the “Office contacts & Locations” section below for address details.]
- Collect the application form for “Duplicate Trade License” from the office.
- Now complete the form with the necessary information and make sure you have all the documents in hand that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- After filling the form, attach the documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below with the completed application form.
- Check the application form and then submit it to the concerned authority.
- Now pay the required application fee to the concerned authority.
- The verification officer after validating the application form and the documents will provide you with an acknowledgement/receiving slip.
- After the verification, If the verification authority is satisfied with the report then the license will be processed.
- Once it is processed, and the license is ready, the applicant will receive an SMS or call on the registered mobile number to collect it.
- The applicant will be required to carry the acknowledgement/receiving slip along with them when going to collect the license from the office.

- Collect the application form for “Duplicate Trade License” from the centre.
- Now complete the form with the necessary information and make sure you have all the documents in hand that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- After filling the form, attach the documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below with the completed application form.
- Check the application form and then submit it to the concerned authority.
- Now pay the required application fee to the concerned authority.

- Current year tax receipt of business premises
- Photocopy of previous license if available
- Identity proof (Aadhar card, voters id, driver license, etc)
- Address proof (Residence Certificate issued by the Revenue Authority, Ration Card/ Aadhaar etc)
- Copy of authentication from the authority
- Verification report of the business premises by the authorized official
- NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the house owner

- Prescribed Form should be used for the Application.
- Please fill the Application form completely and correctly.
- The Trade License Number should be mentioned.
- The name, address and other details of the establishment should be mentioned.
- The reason(s) for obtaining a duplicate should be mentioned in the application form.
- The reason(s) given for obtaining duplicate should be valid.
- The FIR should be filed within one month after the loss of trade license.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- In case the license is torn, defaced or lost, a duplicate trade license is required.
- When there is a sudden inspection by the government, if the owner is found without the trade license, he will have to pay penalty. In order to avoid penalty, the owner should apply for duplicate trade license as soon as possible.
- Trade license is mandatory.
- Trade license is required for a person to run his business legally.
- It proves that the business complies with all the rules specified by the government.
Information which might helpEdit
If the Municipal Commissioner or the Executive Officer comes to know that any business premise is being used for a non-residential purpose without a license under the Act or if it does not comply with the terms of a license granted, he may stop the use of that particular premise for a specified period.
