The Social Justice and Special Assistance Department, the Government of Maharashtra provides online facility to user to apply for Scholarship within India. User can read the instructions and fill the form. Online service is provided by the government to save time of the user. The portal is available in two languages, English and Marathi; user can select any of the preferred language. However, the application form can be printed and applied in person along with the necessary documents Special Assistance Officer, Social Welfare Department.
- Apply Online through aaplesarkar
- The applicant needs to register on the website Create User Id
- The applicant can login using the credentials and fill the form as instructed.
- The applicant can fill the online application form for “Apply for Scholarship Within India” in the citizen login section: Online Application
- Submit the application.
- After submitting the application, user will get a reference slip or number which should be kept for future reference.
- Status of the application can be tracked by the user in “Track your Application” section. For tracking the application, application id or reference number will be required.
Apply in Person:
- Applications can also be made in-person through the Social Justice and Special Assistance Department (Government of Maharashtra) offices and sub-offices.

- Please make sure you have all the documents (if any) that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Fill the application form with the required information
- Submit the form in person to Social Justice and Special Assistance Department.
- After the authorities validate your application and the documents that are submitted they will process the application for scholarship within India.

Photocopy of documents should be attached while applying in person and scanned documents should be uploaded while applying online. Keep all the documents in scanned form like JPEG, GIF and PDF, so that it can be uploaded while making online application on the website. If submitting in person, xerox copies needs to be attached.

- Savitribai Phule Scholarship for V.J.N.T and S.B.C girls students studying in 5th to 7th std.
- Funding By: State
- Scheme Objective: For encouraging the enrolment and presently of VJNT / SBC girl students studying in 5th to 7th standard, Government has introduced this scheme.
- Beneficiary Category: V.J.N.T. & S.B.C.
- Eligibility Criteria:
- Girl Student should belong to V.J.N.T. or S.B.C category.
- Girl Student should be studying in 5th to 7th Standard in recognised school.
- No income limit and there will be no limit of marks.
- Benefits Provided: VJNT and SBC girl students studying in 5th to 7th standard will receive scholarship @ Rs.60 per month for 10 months. This scheme as a separate scheme apart from the other scholarships
- Application Process: This is a paperless scheme. Student or her parents are not required to apply or submit any documents. The Head-Master of the concerned school should submit the list of VJNT and SBC girl students to concerned District Social Welfare Officer, Zillah Parishad of concerned district for sanction of this scholarship.

- Meritorious Scholarships to VJNT and SBC students studying in Secondary Schools.

- Scheme Objective: To motivate Backward Class students for education
- Beneficiary Category: V.J.N.T. & S.B.C.
- Eligibility Criteria:
- Students who secure more than 50 percentage marks in previous year’s annual examination and stood first or second in the class.
- He should belonging to VJNT / SBC category.
- He should be studying in 5th to 10th standard.
- There is no income limit for this scholarship.
- Benefits Provided: Rs. 200/- for 5th to 7th and Rs. 400/- for 8th to 10th standard per annum
- Application Process: Proposal is to be submitted by Head Master of concerned School through concerned Block Education Officer to District Social Welfare Officer, Zillah Parishad concerned. For Mumbai city only proposals are to be submitted to Assistant Commissioner of Social Welfare, Mumbai City.
