The Industries Department, the Government of Maharashtra provides online facility to user for applying for Bio-Tech Unit Registration. User can read the instructions and fill the form. Online service is provided by the government to save time of the user. The portal is available in two languages, English and Marathi. user can select any of the preferred language. However, the application form can be printed and applied in person along with the necessary documents.

Apply Online through aaplesarkar:

  1. To apply online, the applicant shall follow the given aaple sarkar link: Link and click on the "New User? Register Here" tab.
  2. From the given options, select any one mode to create User ID and Password.
  3. Now verify UID or Create your own user profile using OTP verification on your mobile.
  4. A new page will open up where the applicant has to fill up all the personal detail(Name, D.O.B, Age, Gender, etc) in the portal.
  5. Now enter the address as per the document.
  6. After that provide mobile number and OTP, PAN No., UID No., and confirm password.
  7. Now upload a photograph between 5kB to 20kB in JPEG format.
  8. Now choose from the drop now menu any one of the Proof of Identity.
  9. Finally provide a Proof of Address by clicking from the menu on screen.
  10. Click on the declaration box and then click the "Register" tab.
  11. Now login with the user credentials.
  12. After login, click Link and then click on “Apply”.
  13. The applicant will get an application displayed.
  14. Fill up the application form correctly and pay the requisite fee.
  15. On completion, the applicant will be notified.
  16. You can check the status of the application in the portal by signing in with User ID and password.



Apply through Mobile APP:

  1. To apply via app, the applicant shall download the app from the given link: Link
  2. Select the preferred language
  3. A list of options will be provided from which the applicant must choose the concerned department
  4. Now a list of services will be displayed from which the applicant must select the required service
  5. The applicant must also provide the nature of service verification and click on “Apply” to proceed to verification
  6. Once verified, the applicant will be informed about the further process.



Apply Through Centres:

  1. To apply for Bio-Tech Unit Registration through centres, the applicant has to visit the respective “CSC” centre/sewa kendra. Please tap on the following link to locate the centre according to the respective district: link.
  2. Make sure to have the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  3. An application form can be obtained through the kiosk operator upon visiting the centre.
  4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
  5. Submit the application form with “Required Documents” to the office. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
  6. The operator will process the application online.
  7. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement. The applicant will also get a transaction number as a text message on their registered mobile number.
  8. Pay the fee as given in the “Fees” section of this page and collect the receipt.
  9. An ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile. Please keep track of the notification.
  10. Upon the satisfaction of the authorities, the permission will be granted according to the application.



Apply in Person:

  1. Applications can also be made in-person through the Industries Department (Government of Maharashtra) offices and sub-offices.

  4. Submit the application form to Directorate of industries.
  5. Please make sure you have all the documents (if any) that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. Fill the application form with the required information
  7. After the authorities validate your application and the documents that are submitted they will allow for Bio-Tech Unit Registration.

Mandatory Document (all the documents mentioned are mandatory):

  • SSI Registration Number/SSI(if obtained)(Please enclose copy of SSI Registration Certificate)
  • IEM/Industrial License granted by SIA, Ministry of Industry, Govt of India (If obtained/applicable) (Please enclose copy of IEM/ Industrial License)
  • Application for Registration in the prescribed form (Annexure-IV).
  • Affidavit ( Annexure-V )
  • Locational clearance from Directorate of Industries / MIDC Local Authority as the case may be
  • C.A's certificate regarding turnover of Bio-Tech products / activities exceeding 75 % of total turnover (Annexure-VII)
  • BT Letter of Intent ( if obtained )
  • Certificate from designated Certifying Agency
  • Annexure-VIII for existing BT unit

Photocopy of documents should be attached while applying in person and scanned documents should be uploaded while applying online. Keep all the documents in scanned form like JPEG, GIF and PDF, so that it can be uploaded while making online application on the website. If submitting in person, xerox copies needs to be attached.

  • The BT Park should have minimum land area of 2 acres or 20000 Sq.ft. of Built Up Area (BUA).

  • Once the BT unit gets LOI / Registration, it is entitled to get various incentives such as Industrial Promotion subsidy, Stamp duty exemption and Electricity duty exemption, etc. under Package Scheme of Incentives.

  • Bio-Technology (BT) Unit' means a unit engaged in Research and Development and/or manufacture of products which use or are derived by using (a) living systems, (b) enzymes, (c) Biocatalyst.

What is the procedure for getting LOI /Registration as BT Park ?
Ans : For getting LOI/ Registration as BT Park, one has to apply in prescribed application form along with following documents to Competent Authority.

Developer company constitution documents.

  1. For Private Limited Company 
    • Certificate of incorporation with memorandum & Article of Association.
    • Board resolution for development of BT Park
    • Letter of Authority for application (Authorised signatory) 

  2. For Public Ltd. Company 
    • Certificate of incorporation with memorandum & Article of Association.
    • Board resolution for development of BT Park 
    • Letter of Authority for application

  3. For partnership Firm
    • Copy of partnership deed 
    • Copy of firm registration

  4. Cooperative Society

    • Separate feeder for dedicated substation
    • Standby arrangement for not less than 30% of total power requirement.
  5. Affidavit in prescribed form provided with application form.

      • Chilling Plant
      • Steam generation
      • Storage facility (Raw material and finished product)
  6. Building plan approval from Department of Industrial Safety and Health

  • Competent Authority to grant LOI / Registration to BT unit / BT park

  • For Greater Mumbai, the Competent Authority is Joint Director of Industries, Mumbai Metropolitan Region and for rest of the Districts, the Competent Authority is General Manager, District Industries Centre of respective District. For BT Parks located within Mumbai Metropolitan Region, the Competent Authority is Development Commissioner (Inds.), Directorate of Industries, Mumbai. For BT Parks located outside Mumbai Metropolitan Region, the Competent Authority is the General Manager, District Industries Centre of respective District.
