Procedure

While renting out a property in Lakshadweep, one has to register the Tenant or Paying Guest’s details with the Police for Tenant Verification.
Apply In-Person:

1. To register the Tenant’s details with the police, get the Tenant Verification form from the nearest Police Station. link
2. In the procured form, fill the required details of the Landlord and the Tenant.
3. Attach a copy of the required Documents such as Id Proofs and Passport size photographs.
4. Duly sign the form and submit the form at the nearest Police Station.
5. The Police would ask the Tenant or Property Owner to visit the Police Station if any verification is necessary.
6. The Police would keep a record of the Tenant’s information and would inform the landlord if the Tenant is a criminal or a troublemaker.

• A Property Owner could be penalized for renting out a property to a Tenant without registering the Tenant’s information with the Police.
• Under any circumstances, it is advisable to collect details of your Tenant and Register your Tenant with the Police before you rent out your property.
