This procedure explains various ways to raise a request for the shifting of the electric transformer.
Apply In-Person:
- To apply In-Person, you should visit the allocated EB office for your location. You can find the office location and contact details on the “KSEB” website. Location and Contacts
- While applying In-Person, the consumer should either obtain the application from the authorities in the office, or else you can download it from the “KSEB” website.
- From the webpage, you can download by selecting “Application Form for Service Request (Conversion/Shifting/Tariff Charge)” option. Application Form
- The details to be filled in the application form are;
- Name( your name)
- Con No / Code(consumer number)
- Building No./Street (address)
- Place/ Landmark
- Category / Purpose
- District / Pin Code
- Phone No
- Tariff
- Connected Load- (in kW)
- Contract Demand –(in kVA)
- Services Required – You have to select “Shifting” ˃ “Shifting of Service Line”
- Date
- Signature of Applicant
- Place
- Name
- Proof of Identity of the applicant(Any identity proof like Aadhar)
- Completion Certificate (applicable for conversion & shifting)
- Any other document(mentioned by the authorities in the office)
- Fill out the application form and submit it along with the required documents.
- Make sure you have all the documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section.
- You can also submit a request letter with the proper reason for shifting the electric transformer to the preferred location and attach it with the “Service Requests Form (Conversion / Shifting/ Tariff Change)” to the officials such as ASSISTANT ENGINEER (AE), ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE ENGINEER (AEE), and CHIEF ENGINEER (CE) in your local Electricity Board office.
- The authorities will go through the application form and provide an estimate of the amount to be paid to the Electricity Board.
- The estimated amount has to be paid in the Demand Draft (DD).
- After giving the form, they will provide you the Complaint Number and the payment slip for the same.
- You have to keep those details safe for future verification and reference purposes.
Apply Online:
- You can raise a request for the shift of the electric transformer on the official KSEB website. Website Address
- You have to select the “Online Services” option from the “Customer’s” drop-down menu on the main page of the website.
- It will take you to the “Web Self Services” page.
- If you are a new consumer then you should select the option “New User Registration”.
- You have to enter your details such as
- Consumer Number
- Bill Number
- Name
- Title(Mr, Ms, Mrs)
- Email Id
- Mobile Number
- Verification Code
- You have to create your User-Id and Password along with these details.
- After that, you have to click the “Register” button.
- You have to go back to the “Web Self Services” page and log in with the newly created User Id and Password.
- If you already have the “User Id and Password”, you have to just “Sign-In” into the website.
- After Logging in to the site, you have to select the “Register Complaint/Service” option.
- You will see the “File New Complaint/Services” page. You have to fill in the details such as
- Complaint/Service Type
- Category
- Landmark
- Category
- Consumer Number
- Contact Person
- Problem Description
- Mobile Number
- Address
- Verification Code
- In the “Complaint/Service Type” option, you have to select the “SERVICE AT DOORSTEP” option from the drop-down menu.
- In the “Category” section, you have two choices. You can select any one option from this:
- POLE SHIFTING
- POLE-SHIFTING- NO CONSUMER
- In the “Problem description” section, you have to write your reasons for shifting the electric transformer in less than 250 words.
- In the “Landmark” section, you have to enter the landmark details involved in the shifting of the electric transformer in less than 100 words.
- After entering the details in the form, you have to click the “Submit Complaint” button.
- After submitting the complaint, you will receive your “Complaint Id” to your registered mobile number and Email Id.
- You have to save the complaint number for future verification and reference purposes.
- The shifting process will be carried on by the authorities at the desired time.
- You can track your Complaint in the “Complaint Status” option on the “Web Self Services” page.
Apply through 24/7 portal:
To raise a request for the shifting of the electric transformer, you can request through the customer service panel, which is working for 24/7-365 days.
- The 24/7 Customer Care Centre can be used to register for a new EB connection and as well as for raising complaints related to Electricity in the state of Kerala.

- You can register your request for shifting the electric transformer with the given customer support number.
- After your registration, you will get your “Complaint Number” to your registered mobile number.
- You have to keep those details safe for future verification and reference purposes.
Apply through Centres:
- To apply through centres, the applicant has to visit the respective “CSC” centre. Please tap on the following link to locate the centre according to the respective district: link.
- Make sure to have the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
- The operator will process the application online.
- On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement.
- The status, viz. Approval or Rejection if any, will be conveyed to the applicant through an SMS.
- If verified, the permit will be hand delivered or sent through post to the address mentioned while applying in a stipulated period of time.

EligibilityEdit
To request a shift in the transformer, the eligibility criteria are:
- You should have the Consumer Number, any valid Identity proof (Ex. Aadhar Card), and the recently paid electricity bill for the mentioned location for shifting.
- You should be the resident or the owner of the land (leaser too) in the mentioned area for “shifting the electric transformer.”
FeesEdit
- The fee structure for the shifting of the electric transformer is given by the respective Electricity Board Officials depending on the location, wiring, and the power supply details of the particular transformer/pole.
- The consumer should bear the cost of shifting the transformer/pole.
- The evaluated fee should be paid in the form of a Demand Draft to the KSEB.

Processing TimeEdit
- The processing time is depended on the location, wiring, and power supply details of the particular transformer/pole that needs to be shifted.
- The authorities of the local Electricity board will take a survey and give the estimated processing time for the shifting.
