- To transfer Contract Carriage Bus permit in Karnataka the applicant has to approach the RTO office where the permit was obtained. Following link can provide you information related to the list of RTO offices: Contacts Link
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference, it contains the application summary and contact details of the person to be contacted.
- Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
- The processing time for this procedure takes up to 10 - 15 days.

- Respective application form that can be obtained from RTO
- Original Permit.
- Registration Certificate
- Fitness Certificate
- Insurance Certificate.
- Proof of payment of tax for the current quarter.
- Payment of green tax wherever applicable.
- Pollution under control certificate
- Aadhaar card
- The resolution of the RTA/STA or the order of the Court (If required)
- In case of natural transfer (maximum age limit of permit holder or maximum year of permit in one person’s name) – Age related transfer
- An affidavit to the effect that other members of the family do not have any objection for the transfer of the vehicle and the permit in respect thereof to the applicant. Duly attested by a notary should be submitted.
- In case of death transfer of permit holder – to legal heir
- Death Certificate in relation to the permit holder.
- Copy of the letter in which the death of the permit holder was intimated to the competent Authority.
- Legal Heir Certificate issued by a competent Authority enabling the applicant to succeed to possession of the vehicle and the permit. (or)
- "Proper person Certificate" or "Family members Certificate" issued by the authorities concerned.
- If "Proper person Certificate" or "Family members Certificate" is used, then enclose an affidavit to the effect that other members of the family do not have any objection for the transfer of the vehicle and the permit in respect thereof to the applicant. Duly attested by a notary should be submitted.
- Transfer Due to Change of Vehicle
- Registration Certificate of the proposed vehicle for replacing the existing vehicle.
- Fitness Certificate of the existing vehicle and the vehicle proposed for replacing the existing vehicle.
- Insurance Certificate in respect of the vehicle proposed for replacing the existing vehicle.
- Payment of green tax wherever applicable for the new vehicle.
- Proof of payment of the vehicle proposed for replacing the existing vehicle the current quarter.
- Note : If the existing vehicle is under stoppage and it is not having valid F.C., valid I.C., and payment of tax for the current quarter are not up-to-date – Not to worry provided the stoppage is genuine
