Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. Go to the JHARKHAND RENEWABLE ENERGY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY. Link for contact: Contact link
2. Applicant shall submit the application form (obtained from department or in writing as advised by officials)
3. After completing all the verification process the customers will be provided subsidy.
4. Obtain all necessary documents required for the subsidy scheme.
5. In cases where the Registration Certificate is not available, you will have to present the vehicle to the Department for physical verification before the release of your subsidy.

Apply Online:

1. To Apply Subsidy for Battery Operated Vehicle the applicant shall visit the website in the link provided:Link
2. The applicant shall log in through the web portal mentioned under the "Login" option and provide the required information for the process.
3. After login, the applicant shall choose an appropriate option to obtain the license and proceed further.
4. The applicant shall fill up the application form with all the necessary details on a newly opened page and complete the given application form.
5. Now the applicant shall upload scanned copies of all the "Required Documents" for further processing.
6. Once the documents are uploaded, provide the mobile number and enter the received OTP.
7. Now click on "Submit" and complete the process.
8. On successful verification, the license will be issued by the authority.
9. Obtain the license from the concerned office or the portal.

Apply through Centres:

1. To Apply Subsidy for Battery Operated Vehicle in Jharkhand, the applicant shall visit the nearest CSC/Tehsil Centre. Find contacts to CSC centres in the link provided:Link
2. Procure the application form from the concerned centre and fill it up with the necessary details required for the process.
3. Make sure to attach all the "Required Documents" along with the application form before submission.
4. Provide authorized signatory and photograph, wherever applicable.
5. Now submit the application to the office of the concerned centre.
6. On successful verification, the applicant will be notified by the CSC centre.

Required Documents

• Application for the Purchase of Battery Operated Vehicle system under the Subsidy Scheme. (Application in writing or obtained online or from agencies) and one copy to be retained by dealers for record
• Invoice accompanied by copy of Registration Certificate issued by RLA, State.
• Self-Certified copy of Residence proof - Electricity bill/ House Tax bill and
  • EPIC issued by Election Commission of India accompanied with the details of voter enrolment number for cross verification. Details on EPIC & Electoral Roll must tally to be considered.
  • Copy of Driving License
  • Passport and Ration Card
• Aadhaar Card
• Bank Account details

NOTE :

• In case of two wheeler Battery Operated Vehicle if same is not required to be registered under Motor Vehicle Act, then subsidy would be released upon production of invoice & physical confirmation of vehicle by the Department of Science & Technology.
• Note: Applications with Incomplete details/documents will be rejected out rightly

Eligibility

• Residents of State
• 2 wheeler vehicle has to be purchased from State.

Fees

Fees related information can be dealt with the dealers at the time of purchase. Usually, Such scheme related process doesn’t require any fees.

Validity

The subsidy benefit will be passed on to the consumer upfront at the time of purchase of the BOV itself by way of paying reduced price

Subject : Purchase of Battery Operated Vehicle (BOV) ( 2 / 3 / 4 wheeler) under the Subsidy Scheme of the ______________ Administration.

Sir,

I understand that BOV’s (2 / 3 / 4 wheeler) are available through your Deptt. under the subsidy scheme. I want to purchase one Battery Operated Vehicle (2 / 3 / 4 :wheeler) for my personal use at the site given below. I have decided to get the vehicle as per the specifications explained to me & to my satisfaction from :_______________________________________. I shall pay Rs.______________ (Rupees ______________________________only) to the supplier towards the cost of the vehicle :including the subsidy. You may depute your technical person for inspection after the purchase. The subsidy available from your department for above BOV may be released :to the undersigned/manufacturer after the joint inspection of the BOV by the undersigned, supplier & department.

The detailed specifications and cost break-up are enclosed. I shall not resale/transfer/shift this BOV without the permission of the Administration for a period of one :year. You are requested to release the subsidy for the above vehicle.

Processing Time

• This subsidy is paid upfront by reducing the subsidy amount from the vehicle rate. So, while buying the vehicle the subsidy is provided Or
• Can claim after purchase by producing invoice with direct inspection of vehicle

Instructions

Subsidy would be provided to the residents of State on purchase of any Battery Operated Vehicle (2 / 3 / 4 wheelers) @ 15% of the vehicle's cost or Rs. 5000/- (Rupees Five thousand only) whichever is higher.

It will be provided on a first come first serve basis (10 No. of two wheelers, 5 Nos. of three wheelers and 5 Nos. of 4 wheelers) subject to availability of funds.

Need for the Document

• Battery operated vehicles (BOVs) are run by batteries. They are ideally suited for cities and are also suitable for use in hospitals, factories, educational institutions, wild life sanctuaries, airports and places of historic importance.
• Under the Alternative Fuel For Surface Transportation program - To promote non-polluting Battery Operated Vehicles (BOVs) in the country, which help in conserving oil and curb environmental pollution. Under the demonstration program central subsidy is provided through renewable energy development agencies and departments in the States and UTs to institutional users for the purchase of the BOVs.
• They have zero emissions and do not pollute the atmosphere.
• One need to apply with the Administration of state to avail subsidy scheme for those who will purchase battery operated vehicles.

Information which might help

• An undertaking will be taken from the vehicle owners that the vehicles will be properly operated & maintained and that these vehicles will not be sold or disposed of for a period of at least five years (or prescribed period of time) from the date of supply
• An individual may buy multiple BOV’s and avail the demand incentive applicable for each of them.
• This incentive is also available to corporate and organizations.
