Procedure

Residents of Karnataka could get a new Drainage or Sewer connection through the following procedure.

Apply online:

1. To Apply for Drainage (Sewer) Connection, the applicant has use the following link – link
2. The applicant has to enter the mobile number and click the “Send OTP” button.
3. The applicant gets the OTP on the given mobile number, enter the OTP and click the “Submit” button.
4. New screen gets opened, the applicant has to enter all the basic information in the form and click the “save” button.
5. The applicant has to upload the all the necessary documents which is mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. Once completed click the “Submit” button.
7. The documents will be sent to the respective officer.
8. All the documents will be verified. if the applicant is eligible, the inspection process will be done.
9. Once all the process gets done, the applicant has to pay the required amount of fee as per the authority’s request.
10. The connection process gets started once all the process gets done.
11. The processing time for this procedure is within 15- 30 days.

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for a drainage or sewer connection, one has to visit the concerned office of sewerage board in your area Office Locations and BWSSB Offices
2. Before applying, please consult with the concerned authority regarding all the requirements necessary for getting a new drainage connection.
3. The application form for this service can be obtained at the Divisional and Sub divisional Offices.
4. In the procured form, fill all the required details.
5. Attach the photocopy of all the required documents with the application form.
6. Submit the documents at the divisional Office of sewerage board and receive the acknowledgement receipt.
7. The documents will be verified and if the application is eligible, the applicant will be notified to pay the charges. Rejected applications will be returned to the applicant with intimation.
8. Pay the service charges as instructed and register your connection and receive the acknowledgement receipt.
9. Obtain permission for road cutting from the respective department if required.
10. Your application will now be forwarded to the concerned area officer for sanction.
11. Site inspections will be made by the authority officers and any correction regarding the application will be notified to the applicant.
12. After all the requirements and changes have been met by the applicant, the work order will be issued for the connection.

• Plan of the house sanctioned by local authority
• Property Tax Assessment Number.
• Road Cutting Endorsement / receipt
• Rain Water Harvesting arrangements made in the premises.
• Proof of having paid taxes / charges up to date
• True copy of Completion certificate issued by the Local Authority wherever is applicable.
• Proof of having paid Infrastructure Development charges where ever applicable.
• Floor wise area details for each dwellings/ flats / apartment
• Photos of the completed building.
• Photo of the Rain Water Harvesting implemented within the premises.
• Occupancy certificate or Affidavit on stamp paper of required value
• Occupancy certificate or Affidavit on stamp paper of RS.50/- for multistoried building having 4th Floor & above.
• Occupancy Certificate is required for the residential / multi dwellings / apartments with 5 dwelling units & above and commercial buildings within 300 Sq.mtrs total area.
• Installation of Sewage Treatment Plant along with dual piping system in the premises & production of Consent for Operation (CFO) issued by KSPCB is mandatory for the following buildings.(i) Building having 20 and above residential apartments or residential buildings measuring 2,000 Sq.mtrs. and above(ii) Commercial building measuring 2,000sqmtrs and above; and(iii) Buildings of educational institutions measuring 5,000 sqmtrs and above.
• Address proof and Id proof of the applicant from the following:
• Aadhaar card
• Driving Licence
• Ration card
• Voter ID
• PAN Card

Note: Other required documents have to be submitted if necessary. Carry the original and photocopy of the necessary documents for any cross verifications to be made. Keep the original documents ready during site inspection.
