Procedure

To provide financial support to the poor widows of India, the widow pension scheme was introduced in India. A widow whose household is below the poverty line is eligible to get the benefits of pension scheme.
Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for widow Pension,You have to approach the Social Justice and Empowerment Department.

3. Download the application form online using the following link : Application form
4. Fill the application form with necessary details.
5. Attach all the Required Documents as mentioned in the Required Documents section along with the form and submit it to concerned officer in the Social Justice and Empowerment Department.
6. Pay the appropriate fees as per authorities quote.
7. You will be given an acknowledgement keep it safe for future reference.
8. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
9. After all the verification they will credit your pension amount each month to your bank account.

Apply In-Person for Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS):

1. To apply for Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme,visit the nearest Gram Panchayat /Municipality.

3. Get the application form from the Concerned Officer or write it on an A4 sheet.
4. Fill the application form with all the necessary details.
5. Attach all the Required Documents as mentioned in the Required Documents section along with the form and submit it to the concerned officer in the Gram Panchayat /Municipality.
6. Pay the appropriate fees as per authorities quote.
7. You will be given an acknowledgement keep it safe for future reference.
8. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
9. If sanctioned, beneficiary shall be issued a Pension Passbook.

Eligibility

• Applicant must be widow aged 18 years or above.
• Yearly household income of the applicant should not exceed Rs. 35,000/-.
• Recommendation from the concerned Gram Panchayat.
• National Widow Pension Scheme to the eligible widows of selected BPL families in the age group 40 to 69 years.

Eligibility to apply for Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS):

• The applicant must be from BPL category (with a valid BPL id)
• The applicant must be a widow.
• Applicant must be widow between 40-79 years of age.
• Recommendation from the concerned Gram Panchayat.

Fees

• As authorities quote.

Validity

• It is valid forever.
