Procedure

• A Character Certificate is an official document issued by the respective department authorities which states whether a person has any previous convictions recorded against him/her.
  

Apply In-Person :

1. To apply for the character certificate, please approach the concerned Jan Seva Kendraat all TalukaMamlatdar / Panchayat Office
2. Link for contacts: link in the given page, please select the district as listed to reach the respective district portal. Please select menu “Offices” > “Mamlatdar Office” for contact details. AND link #Please go to the respective office.
3. Applicant shall obtain the form from the respective office (please pay for the form if required) Or a written application on A4 plain sheet as advised shall be used
4. Submit the completed application along with required documents.
5. Authorities after checking the attached documents and application submitted will make entries and provide you record number for reference.
6. This application will be processed internally. Respective authorities will do the ground level verification in the residing area of the applicant followed by scrutiny of the documents and details provided by the applicant.
7. Once the verification is over, these officials will submit their report to the respective authority to decide and issue the Certificate to the applicant.
8. Applicant will get the certificate as per notified period after due verification.

2. Please hit the “Character certificate” tab from the list of services provided to reach next page.
3. In the given page, please go through the details and hit the apply online option provided at the bottom.
4. In the given page, user need to select email/mobile from the drop down for login.
5. Complete the page prompt to login by clicking login.
   1. If you are a new user to this portal, then click on “Click For New Registration (Citizen)” link, it will redirect you to user registration page to register
6. Once login, user need to hit the respective option and complete the successive page prompts and also upload required documents to apply online by hitting the right tab.
7. After successful submission of your application you can take the print of your application form and proceed further with the online payment.
8. Please pay using any of the two options
   1. Using E-Wallet
   2. Using Gateway
9. This application will be processed by the respective department.
10. Citizen will get an SMS for the status of his/her application.
11. Once completing the application process, user shall use the application number to get the certificate by using download issued document option.

Note:

• For any query/problem regarding portal citizen can contact on toll free no. 18002335500.
• If your application is returned for change or to fill incomplete details, kindly submit it within 37 days of return. If fail to submit within 37 days application will be disposed with rejection. Application fee will not be refunded.

• If the above documents are to be supported by report of applicable authorities, please provide as required.
• All original and copy of original with self attestation as advised by respective authorities to be submitted as per requirement.
