ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. The respective “Fair Price Shops-FPS” / ration shop will announce the issue of the application form for the new ration card. The respective zonal office also conducts special camps for the issue of family card to the transgender. The applicant shall approach these offices and find out the option for getting a ration card for transgender. If the service is availed, then apply for the family card.
  2. Contact link1 in the given page, please find the “District” and Zone/Taluka” prompts under “For the customer” section. please select the district name and zone/taluka as appropriate for contact details AND link2 please use the contact details to get the contact details of the respective office to apply AND link3 in the given page, please select the website hyperlink as per your choice to reach respective district website. Please select “Offices > Mamlatdar Office” menu to get mamlatdar contact details and “HOME > SERVICES > Digital Gujarat” or “DEPARTMENTS > COLLECTORATE-REVENUE > Registry (Jan Seva)” for Jan seva Kendra at respective municipality.
  3. Go to the respective office and obtain the application form to apply for a ration card. The applicants are advised to get the latest eligibility updates from the authorities.

  5. Irrespective of the announcements for the new ration cards and special camps, the applicant shall also visit the respective public distribution office for their area on any working day to consult about how to apply for the new ration card.
  6. Fill all the necessary mandatory information in the application as appropriate, please mention or select the transgender/others option for the gender/sex section as appropriate and sign at appropriate places.
  7. Do not fill in any wrong information, otherwise the officer of the department will reject the application form.
  8. Attach all the required documents as per the “Required Documents” section of this page and apply to the concerned authority. Please pay the fee/charges if any and don’t forget to take the receipt. Please refer to the “Fees” section of this page for more details.
  9. On accepting the application, the authority or the clerk will check the application details and documents. If all are in place, the application will be accepted and an acknowledgement slip with a serial number will be issued. Please keep it safe for future reference.
  10. Applicant will be informed of the probable date of getting approval for the issuance of the ration card.
  11. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile. Please keep track of the notification.
  12. The submitted application will be processed by the department. A designated authority (supply officer) will verify the submitted documents and inspect the area of the applicant to clarify the applicant’s details.
  13. Based on the outcome of the above-mentioned steps and other internal processing, the designated issuing authority will make a decision on issuance of the family card.
  14. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection will be conveyed to the applicant through an “SMS” or through applicable norms.
  15. If approved, the ration card will be hand-delivered or sent through post to the address mentioned while applying or issued as per the applicable norms within 60 days or as per the advised timeline.


To Apply Through CSC Centre

  1. Applicant shall go to the respective “CSC” centre.
  2. Following link can provide you information related to nearest CSC Centres link please fill the prompts using the dropdown list as appropriate for the respective contact details.
  3. Please visit the centre and consult with the kiosk operator for your requirement.
  4. If the operator issues an application form, then collect it and pay the requisite fee. Please complete the application form.
  5. Now, submit the completed application along with the required documents as per the “Required Documents” section of this page. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
  6. The operator will process the application online. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement. The applicant will also get a transaction number as a text message on their registered mobile number.
  7. Applicant has to make necessary payment as centre operator quotes and don’t forget to take the receipt.
  8. This application will be forwarded to the respective department for further processing.
  9. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile. Please keep track of the notification.

  1. To Apply Family Card for Transgender, the applicant has to use the following link – link
  2. To start the process, the applicant needs to click the “Applicant Login”.
  3. If the applicant Is the new user click the “Register here”.
  4. The applicant has to enter the details and select the state.
  5. After completing enter the captcha and click the “REGISTER” button.
  6. Now the applicant has to click the “Login here” to login.
  7. Enter the registered user name, password and click the “LOGIN”.
  8. After login, the applicant will be redirected to the new page where it can check the Transgender IC Card Application.
  9. There will be three options “New Application”, “My Activity Log” and “Grievance “.
  10. Select the “New application” and also select the categories.
  11. In given application, the applicant has to enter all the details in the application form.
  12. And upload all the necessary documents which is mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  13. After completing the details click the “Submit” button.
  14. There is no fee for this procedure.
  15. Once the verification process is completed, the applicant get the notification through SMS.
  16. The applicant has to login through the same portal.
  17. Enter the application number, Now Transgender ID Card will display on the screen.
  18. The applicant can take a print out or download it.
  19. The processing time for this procedure is takes up to 1 month.

  • Address Proof (attested copy of PAN Card /Driving Licence / Bank Passbook / Post Office Passbook /Municipal Holding receipt / Electricity Bill / Telephone Bill)

  • A copy of income proof of the family - that income of the family is below the prescribed limit (to apply for value based card)

  • Certificate from the respective area Pradhan/Ward Councillor as applicable
  • A self-addressed and stamped postal cover or postcard to enable the office to communicate the results to the applicant
  • Copy of Tax Pay / Land Revenue Pay receipt or Tenancy agreement if the applicant is a tenant
  • Copies of birth certificates of minor members (Below 10 years in age)
  • Surrender certificate of Ration Card / Family Identity holding or non-availability certificate from the FCS & CA authority where the applicant has previously resided (applying in the new place) as applicable
  • Aadhaar Card

  • Get the respective documents attested by the gazette officer, MLA or MP or the municipal councilor as applicable.

EligibilityEdit

  • Transgender is eligible to apply with a valid “Certificate of identity”.
  • The applicant and his/her family must be Indian citizens and should be residents of the state.
  • The applicant or his family members must not possess any family card in any other State in India (If they had one, it has to be withdrawn).
  • The applicant and members of the family must be close relatives.
  • If you are newly married and have your name in your family ration card, you and your spouse should get name deletion certificates (removing names from your respective family cards).

  • The ration cards are usually valid for a lifetime and will be renewed in 5 years or based on the announcement.

  • Incomplete application will be rejected.
  • Do not submit fake documents as proof to get the ration card.
  • Avoid spelling mistakes while filling the application form.
  • If it comes to notice of the department at a later date that particulars given by an applicant are either wrong or contrary to truth, the family card issued will be cancelled and action will be pursued against the applicant.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • To protect the transgender rights and interests and to facilitate their access to different government schemes, the government initiated the issue of family cards under the “Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS)”.
  • For implementation of the “Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS)”, ration Card is being issued to all the heads of families, with details about family members included in the card. Based on their economic condition, people can buy goods like food grains, sugar and kerosene with the help of their ration cards.
  • Ration card is essential to apply for passport, PAN card or a domicile certificate or to even get the name registered for electoral rolls to get a Voter ID.
