ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. The consumers are advised to follow the temporary disconnection process, if they want their connection back in a short time like few months. Otherwise, the option of surrendering will be in place.



For Temporary disconnection

  1. The consumer shall visit the concerned bill payment or the electricity office of the executive officer for your area
  2. The office at which the consumer remits electricity consumption bill is the office that will accept the application form.
  3. Please use the following Link. In the given page, please click on the “Reach Us” menu and hit the “Contact Information” option from the drop down.
  4. Please navigate to get the office contact details.
  5. The consumer shall request for the service. The office authority concerned will provide an application form and provides the guidelines about temporary disconnection.
  6. Please prepare the documents as advised. We too provided the list of documents that are required for this service in our required document section.
  7. Please complete the application and attach all the documents as advised and submit it at the counter or to the authority.
  8. The authority will check the submitted details. If all are in place, the consumer should pay the necessary application charge that varies with the type of connection. Please pay as per the authority advise.
  9. This application will be processed by the concerned staff.
  10. Once the department decides on taking action, the department will record the electricity meter reading as a first step and disconnect the power.
  11. The Staff will remove the electricity meter and cable from the pole or from the junction box.
  12. The staff will provide a document from the department side that the disconnection is done and the consumer shall follow the staff guidance.
  13. The consumer should pay the outstanding if any and arrears along with operational charges as quoted from the department.
  14. The consumer will get a SMS in their registered mobile number.
  15. Yhe consumers are advised to visit the office after this disconnection to ascertain if there is any pending need to be cleared.
  16. The connection can be requested by the consumer once the said period of time is over by providing the documents that are given at the time of temporary disconnection.



For surrender of connection

  1. In order to surrender the electricity connection, the consumer shall visit the concerned bill payment or the electricity office of the executive officer for your area.
  2. Please use the following Link. In the given page, please click on the “Reach Us” menu and hit the “Contact Information” option from the drop down.
  3. Please navigate to get the office contact details.
  4. The consumer shall meet the Assistant engineer or the authority concerned and request for surrender of connection.
  5. As the process involves a detailed report from the department and acknowledgement from hierarchical authorities concerned, the authority will explain the steps involved.
  6. Please collect the form. Arrange all the documents as advised.
  7. Complete the application form, attach all the required documents and submit it at the Assistant Engineer office.
  8. The submitted application will be checked and if all are in place, then it will be taken for further processing.
  9. The authority at the office will provide the next set of actions.
  10. The consumers are advised to make sure their deposit amount can be adjusted for the final bill payment.
  11. After the internal process a permanent disconnection (PD) report will be generated.
  12. Based on the report the department staff will start the disconnection procedure as per the Assistant Engineers advise.
  13. On a scheduled date, the staff will shut down the power supply immediately after marking the final reading on the meter.
  14. The meter will be removed and the Cables will be disconnected. This procedure marks the physical disconnection.
  15. The marked meter reading calculated amount will be added to the arrears amount if any along with disconnection charges and fees as per the connection that the consumer had.
  16. The advice slip will be given or the consumers shall meet the Assistant Engineer office to get the advice slip to complete any pending amount that need to be paid from the consumer end.
  17. Here the security deposit amount can be reconciled. Please follow the department norms and get final settlement memo from the department.
  18. The consumers shall pay the final bill for the said connection as reconciled.
  19. The final “No-Dues certificate” will be issued within seven days of receipt of final bill payment.
  20. With the effect of “No-Dues Certificate”, the consumer is permanently disconnected form the system. Please keep this certificate intact.

FeesEdit

Disconnection and Reconnection of supply for any reason whatsoever (Disconnection and Reconnection to be separately treated as single job).

  • Consumer having load above 100BHP/75KW per job: Rs. 1000
  • Power consumers up to 100BHP/75KW per job: Rs. 500
  • All other categories of Consumers per job: Rs. 300

Processing TimeEdit

The notice period shall be 30 days for all consumers. Upon service of the said notice, the licensee shall arrange to take reading, disconnect the supply, remove meter, cable etc., deliver final bill including all arrears up to the date of disconnection within 30 days from the date of said application. Upon payment, the Licensee shall issue receipt with FINAL BILL stamped on it, which shall be treated as No Dues Certificate.]

  • A consumer may terminate the agreement after giving a notice in the specified format ((Hindi, English)). The notice period shall be 30 days for all consumers. Upon service of the said notice, the licensee shall arrange to take reading, disconnect the supply, remove meter, cable etc., deliver final bill including all arrears up to the date of disconnection within 30 days from the date of said application. Upon payment, the Licensee shall issue receipt with FINAL BILL stamped on it, which shall be treated as No Dues Certificate.]
  • If the dues are not paid by the consumers the surcharge payable by the consumer on dues shall be levied up to the period of issue of section-5 notice, or for maximum eight months only.
  • The security amount shall be adjusted first and after adjusting the security amount the net arrear shall be calculated on which surcharge shall be payable by the consumer.
