This procedure explains various ways to Register as Forester in Zamboanga City.
- The first thing you will need to do is check for the schedule of registration which will be posted by PRC on their website.
- Carefully read the posted announcement. Other than the registration date it will also contain other information like documents you will need to present or submit and how much is the registration fee.
- Go to a PRC office to obtain an Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal.
- Do not forget to bring the following when you visit the office:
- Current Community Tax Certificate (cedula)
- One passport size picture (colored with white background and complete nametag)
- Two sets of metered documentary stamps
- One short brown envelope with name and profession
- Go to the designated counter/window (verification officer) and submit the completed oath form for assessment of prescribed fees.
- Proceed to the cashier window to pay the prescribed fee. PRC Main Office: Cashiers windows are located at the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors of the PRC Annex Bldg and/or at the ground floor.
- Once you have paid the registration fee, proceed to the designated Registration counter/window. The Registration Officer will print the Registry Sheet with assigned Registration / License Number to be signed and thumb marked by the Registrant.
- After completion of the Registry Sheet, the issuance officer will give you a claim slip/stub that states when you can claim your Professional Identification Card.
For registrants who are currently abroad:
- Take the professional's oath form before the Philippine Consul.
- Have a Special Power of Attorney notarized by the Consul.
- You will need to bring a copy of your passport page showing your personal data and the page showing date of entry abroad.

Practice of Forestry: Any person who offers to perform or who performs for another whether for profit or not, any of the following services shall be deemed to be practicing the forestry profession, to wit: the scientific conservation and management of forests for the continuous and judicious utilization of forests and forest products; including services in the form of forestry consultation, investigation, planning, preparation, and implementation of management plans for forest and national park areas and the determination of the suitability of public forest land for pasture or agricultural land; logging, forest reconnaissance and timber estimate; scaling and grading of logs and lumber; identification of woods and other forestry products; administration, management and supervision of forest plantation and tree farm leases within public forests; protection and conservation of game and wildlife; preparation and implementation of reforestation and afforestation plans; supervision of any forestry activity requiring the application of forestry principles; and such other activities as related to forest protection, silviculture, and maintenance or restoration of necessary ecological balance. Persons who have had at least three years practical experience in the field or who have completed at least two years of the Forestry Course may be employed to perform the foregoing services under the supervision of a forester who shall be responsible for the satisfactory completion of their work.
Republic Act. No. 6239 (An Act to Regulate the Practice of the Forestry Profession in the Zamboanga City ) defined the term forester as a natural person duly registered with the Board of Examiners as a forester who:
- is duly qualified and exempt from taking the board examination; or
- passed the Forestry Board Examination.
