ProcedureEdit

This procedure explains various ways to raise a request for the shifting of the electric transformer.

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply In-Person, you should visit the allocated EB office for your location. You can find the office location and contact details on the Electricity Department Government of Goa website.
  2. While applying In-Person, the consumer should obtain the application from the authorities in the office, or else you can download it from the Electricity Department Government of Goa website.
  3. In the webpage, you can download “Application form - Conversion of Services / Change of Consumer Category/ Shifting of Connection to new Premises” under the Downloads section: Application Form
  4. You have to fill in the details such as:
    • Service Connection No
    • Name of Consumer
    • Consumer category
    • Contracted load
    • Address
    • Telephone no
    • Request for change in service
    • If request is for conversion of service: (Tick whichever applicable)
    • If request is for change of connection to new premises ----˃ b) Details of equipment to be shifted (Meter/service line, LT/HT line, transformer, etc.)
    • Reason for change in service( Explain the reason for shifting the transformer)
    • Date
    • Signature of the Consumer
    • Place
    • Name
    • Contact No
    • Email-Id
  5. Fill out the application form and submit it along with the required documents.
  6. Make sure you have all the documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section.
  7. The authorities will go through the application form and provide an estimate of the amount to be paid to the Electricity Board.
  8. The estimated amount has to be paid in the Demand Draft (DD).
  9. After giving the form, they will provide you the Complaint Reference Number and the payment slip with the “Acknowledgement” form.
  10. You have to keep those details safe for future verification and reference purposes.


Apply through Online and 24/7 portal:
To raise a request for the shifting of the electric transformer, you can request through the customer care service, which works 24/7-365 days.

  1. The consumer should register their complaint with the 24/7 Customer Care toll-free number - 1912.
  2. Then the consumer will receive a “Token Number”.
  3. The complaint will be forwarded to the concerned officials for the remedial action.
  4. The consumer will be informed after resolving the complaint through the registered mobile number.
  5. All calls are individually monitored and time taken for each complaint is recorded.
  6. Each registered complaint is reported in E-mail to the concerned sub-divisional/ Divisional officers the next day morning.
  7. If the call is not resolved in maximum 40 minutes on the 1st-Level complaint, then the complaint is passed on to the respective authorities in the given order
    • Assistant Engineer - After 40 minutes
    • Executive Engineer - After 50 minutes
    • Superintending Engineer - After 60 minutes
    • Chief Electrical Engineer - After 75 minutes
  8. You can also mail your request to the 24/7 Customer Care Service.
  9. You can raise your complaint through the customer care phone number(Not Toll-Free)

  10. After your registration, you will get your “Complaint Reference Number” to your registered mobile number/Email ID.
  11. You can track your complaint status by calling the customer care number by mentioning the Token Number/ Registration Number.
  12. You have to keep those details safe for future verification and reference purposes.

  • Installation inspection report
  • Proof of ownership / legal occupancy of premises, if request is for shifting of premises, such as
    • Sale deed
    • Allotment, Possession letter
    • Municipal Tax receipt
    • Gift deed
    • Will deed or any other valid document
    • An indemnity bond drawn by the owner
  • Any other document (please specify)
  • Recently paid electricity bill (Shouldn’t have any arrears)
  • DD for the estimated shifting charges
  • Proof of Identity of the applicant such as
    • Ration card
    • Election Identity Card
    • PAN card
    • Aadhar card
    • Passport
    • Driving license
  • Any other document(mentioned by the authorities)

EligibilityEdit

To request a shift in the transformer, the eligibility criteria are:

  • You should have the Consumer Number, and any valid Identity proof (Ex. Aadhar Card).
  • You should be the resident or the owner of the land (leaser too) in the mentioned area for “shifting the electric transformer.”



FeesEdit

  • The fee structure for the shifting of the electric transformer is given by the respective Electricity Board Officials after undertaking the survey for the mentioned location.
  • The consumer should bear the entire cost of shifting the transformer/pole.
  • The evaluated fee should be paid in advance in the form of a Demand Draft to the Goa Electricity Department.
