Apply In-PersonEdit
- It is very easy to apply for a Professional Tax Receipt in Quezon City. To apply go to the Miscellaneous Section of the City Treasury Office.
- Proceed to Window 12 and present your PRC ID. If your application is to be file by a representative you will need to provide an authorization letter. In case of renewal, you will need to present the same documents with the addition of the original receipt from the previous year.
- You will need to pay the application fee which is Php300. Now, you must know that PTRs are to be applied for or renewed at the beginning of the year, during the month of January. A penalty of Php75 plus 2% (Php82.50) is charged if you are applying during the month of February. x2% for the succeeding months (March-December).
- Your application will be processed immediately and your new Professional Tax Receipt number will be release to you on the same day.

A customer who still incorrectly dials the old seven-digit number will hear a special announcement saying the format has been changed to eight-digit, for a period of three months after the migration (March 18, 2019 to June 17, 2019).

According to the Local Government Code of the Philippines, the local government may impose payment of professional tax on each person legally authorized to practice his profession (example: lawyers, CPAs, doctors etc.).
The professional tax is payable annually on or before the thirty first (31st) day of January.
Professionals exclusively employed in the government shall be exempt from the payment of this tax.
Individuals paying professional tax shall write in deeds, receipts, prescriptions,reports, books of account, plans and designs, surveys and maps, as the case may be,the number of the official receipt issued to him.
