ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for the registration of an Arts Association (Organization) in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the National Arts Council of Zambia, for the main office visit link.
  2. Make sure that you have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  3. An application form will be provided to the applicant at the National Arts Council office.
  4. Once understanding the guideline properly, the applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
  5. Submit the application form with necessary attachments to the office.
  6. The application will be forwarded for verification to the Registrar of the arts council.
  7. The concerned authorities will inspect everything according to the guidelines provided by the National Arts Council of Zambia.
  8. If the facility meets all the guidelines and the Registrar of Arts Council signs the application form, the applicant will most probably get the license.
  9. Pay the fee as given in the “Fees” section of this page.
  10. After the completion of the above steps, the provisional certificate will be accessible.
  11. The applicant gets the registration certificate in a stipulated Period.

  • Two copies of the current constitution of the association or organization.
  • A memorandum duly signed by the Chairman and Secretary giving the following information: -
  • The names and addresses of the office-bearers of the association or organization.
  • The funds available and the sources of revenue.
  • The principal and other places of operations.
  • Details of past activities, future plans and budgetary requirements for current and subsequent.
  • A list of names and addresses of all International Arts Federations to which the Association is affiliated.
  • A list of names and addresses of all clubs affiliated with the Association.
  • Minutes of the previous annual general meeting of the Association at which the association resolved to apply for registration.
  • Statement on the program of action, both short and long term.

EligibilityEdit

  • An association that intends to operate an arts institution.
  • The members of the organization team must be bonafide residents of Zambia.
  • The group should comprise not less than six and not more than thirteen members.



FeesEdit

  • Registration and Scrutiny Fees: K166.80.

  • The registration certificate is valid as mentioned in the permit.

InstructionsEdit

  • A person or group shall not operate an arts association unless the institution is registered under the National Council of Arts Act.
  • Not registering will lead to an offence and is liable, upon conviction, to a fine up to five hundred thousand penalty units or imprisonment for a period up to five years, or both.

  • The objectives and functions of the association or organization.
  • The names and address of its office-bearers.
  • The funds available to it and its sources of revenue.
  • Its principal and other places of operation.
  • Full address, telephone number and location of the headquarters of the Association.
  • Founded (Day, Month and Year)
  • Current affiliated Provincial Association.
  • Other affiliated Associations.
  • The current number of affiliated clubs.

  • The granted permit will allow the holder to run an art organization in Zambia.

  • National Arts Council Act of Zambia act.
  • The Registrar may provisionally register an art organisation which does not fulfil the requirements for registration under Zambia Education Act, where the Registrar has reasonable grounds to believe that the institution is able to fulfil the relevant requirements within a specified period.



Other uses of the Document/CertificateEdit

  • The permit also allows the holder to include the provision of any facility under the National Arts Council Act at the arts organization.
