ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for a national identity card registration in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the department of National Registration, Passport and Citizenship office in your area, for the main office visit link.
  2. Make sure that you have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  3. Applicants must submit required documents to the local District Office: a completed NRC application form, proof of identity in the form of a birth certificate or an affidavit signed by a Commissioner of Oaths.
  4. According to experts, for women to register, a paternal relative must be present to authenticate their identity.
  5. The Biometric right thumb print, biographic information is also taken during the application process.
  6. Submit the application with necessary attachments to the office.
  7. There are no fees for this process.
  8. The application will be duplicated for local and central offices.
  9. Upon the verification of all required documents, the ID card will be ready.
  10. Collect the National Identity Card from the office in 5 days or wait for it to arrive via post on the provided postal address in a stipulated period of time.
