ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for an emission license in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the Environmental management agency of Zambia, for the main office visit link.
  2. Make sure that you have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  3. An application form will be provided to the applicant upon visiting the Environmental management agency office, find the form here form.
  4. Once understanding the guideline properly, the applicant has to fill-in all the necessary information in the application form.
  5. Submit the application form with necessary attachments to the office.
  6. Pay the fee as per given in the “Fees” section of this page.
  7. After the completion and verification of all the required documents, the license will be accessible.
  8. Upon completion of above steps the applicant gets the license in a stipulated period of time.

  • Qualifications of the person responsible for compliance and the conditions of the licence
  • Documentary proof that the residents of the area surrounding the proposed emission site were notified of the applicant’s intention to apply for an emission licence in a daily newspaper of general circulation in Zambia, after seven days from the date of the notification.
  • Emergency Preparedness Plan
  • Environmental Management Plans
  • Certificate of incorporation (if applicable)

EligibilityEdit

  • The license will be provided if at least one is satisfied:
  • Suspension is necessary to prevent or mitigate an imminent risk of significant adverse effects to the environment or to human health occurring.
  • Require the applicant to take specific measures to prevent or abate any adverse effect.

  • Fee: Pay the fee as per the authority request.



ValidityEdit

  • This licence is valid for 10 years.

  • The license will be cancelled if provider is caught guilty of one of the following:
  • Giving false information.
  • Transferring license without approval.
  • Failing to comply with an enforcement notice.
  • Failing to comply with provisions of the WSS Act or license conditions.
  • Failing to provide WSS service according to SLG.
