ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for a investors visa in Zambia, the applicant will have to visit the department of immigration, for the main office visit link.
  2. Make sure that you have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  3. An application form will be provided to the applicant upon visiting the department of immigration.
  4. Once understanding the guideline properly, the applicant has to fill-in all the necessary information in the application form.
  5. Submit the application form with necessary attachments to the office.
  6. Pay the fee as per given in the “Fees” section of this page.
  7. Keep in constant contact with the authorities for smooth completion of procedure
  8. Collect your visa from the office or wait for it to get it via post to the postal address in a stipulated period of time.


Apply-Online

  1. Visit the following online registration portal.
  2. Login if you already have an account or register yourself.
  3. Provide the details asked like name, email and passport number.
  4. Choose “Type of Representative” from the drop down menu provided.
  5. Click on the “register” button.
  6. Go to the login portal again and login with your username and password.
  7. After you have successfully logged into the system with your account credentials, click “My Profile” to access your personal profile information.
  8. Data form will display and the information will be organized in 3 tabs: Identity, Address, Contact.
  9. Fill in all the appropriate details and after you have finished click the “Save” button to save the information.
  10. Open the “Contact” tab and provide your up-to-date contact information, so that the Immigration Department could reach you for questions and notices. Otherwise, you may miss some important information. Click “Save” after you have finished.
  11. Now, go to “My Workplace” you will see a links under “Available Permits” for various permits
  12. Select “investors visa” service from the permits list present in the menu.
  13. Select “diplomatic visa” service from the permit list of the menu.
  14. Click “Next” and complete the application that consists of a form for an investors visa and again click “Next”.
  15. Review the application requirements, scan and upload the required documents, click “Next”.
  16. Preview the completed application form as a PDF file (you can print or save it for your records).
  17. If all information is correct, click “Confirm” and preview the system-generated Electronic Bill (you can print or save it for your records).
  18. If you accept the fees and have your credit card ready, click on the “Pay Online” button and you will be redirected to the bank site for secure payment processing.
  19. Enter your billing details, click “Next” and then click the “Pay” button.
  20. Upon completion of payment, you will be returned to the Payment Receipt page.
  21. Review your payment confirmation message, print or download Payment Receipt in PDF format, for your records.
  22. To complete the application process, click on the “Finish” button. You will see the number of the application case you have submitted.
  23. Your application can be tracked after logging in and going to the “submitted” section.
  24. Wait for approval of your application.
  25. When your application is approved, wait for authority’s action.
  26. Collect your document according to the authority’s suggestion.

  • Proof of personal investment amounting to US$250,000 for a new business and US$150,000 if joining an existing company (Bank Statement, Money Transfer, ZRA Form CE20, showing description and value of goods/equipment)
  • Proof of ownership or lease agreement in Zambia
  • Certified copy of valid passport (bio data & last endorsement stamp for Zambia)
  • Two recent passport size photographs
  • Prescribed fee receipt


Requirements for variation by inclusion of another company

  • Covering letter addressed to the Director General of Immigration
  • Certificate of Incorporation
  • Certificate of Share Capital
  • Certificate of Minimum Capital
  • Investment License from ZDA (where available)
  • List of Directors
  • Proof of personal investment (Bank Statement, Money transfer, ZRA Form CE20)
  • Proof of ownership or lease agreement in Zambia
  • Certified copy of valid passport (bio data & last endorsement stamp for Zambia)
  • Prescribed fee receipt


Requirements for variation by Change of Nature of Business/ Addition of Nature of Business:

  • Covering letter to the Director General of Immigration
  • Certificate of Incorporation
  • Appropriate license
  • List of Directors
  • Certificate of Share Capital
  • Certificate of Registration of Business Name (where applicable)
  • Investment License (if any)
  • Proof of ownership of land or lease agreement (where applicable)
  • Prescribed fee


Requirements for variation by Addition of Children and/or Spouse

  • Covering letter to the Director General of Immigration from applicant
  • Certified copies of Marriage/Birth Certificate/s (as appropriate)
  • Certified copy of valid passport (bio data & last endorsement stamp for Zambia)
  • Two recent passport size photographs
  • Prescribed fee receipt

EligibilityEdit

  • An Investor’s Permit is issued to a foreigner (above the age of 18 years) intending to establish a business or invest in Zambia or who has established or invested in a business in Zambia, or is joining an already existing company.



FeesEdit

  • Application Fee: Pay the fee as per the authority request.



ValidityEdit

  • The investor Permit is given initially for a period of one year and may be renewed for a further period of one year.
