Procedure

1. Gather all documents you will need to submit or present to apply for a driver's license.
2. Fill out an application form.
3. Submit the completed form along with all other documents needed to take the exams.
4. Pay the fees.
5. Complete and pass all the necessary tests (theory and practical).
6. Once you have passed the practical test, submit documents required to obtain your driver's license card and pay the fee.

Required Documents

First time applicants need to submit the following documents to take the theoretical/practical exam:

• Valid identification card
• Completed application form
• Two passport-sized photos (white background)

After you have passed the examinations (theory / practical), present the following to obtain a license:

• Valid identification card
• Completed application form
• Medical certificate of health
• Psychological certificate (if applicable)
• Two passport-sized photos (white background)

For first time applicants aged between 16 and 18 years old (applying for a first, second and third grade license), present the following to take the theoretical/practical exam:

• Valid identification card
• Completed application form
• Three passport-sized photos (white background)
• Consign copy of identity card of the applicant and his representative

After you have passed the examinations (theory / practical), present the following to obtain a license:

• Valid identification card
• Completed application form
• Authorization by the legal representative assuming joint and several liability for any damage to persons, vehicles, or public property caused by the teenager driving the vehicle
• Medical certificate of health
• Psychological certificate (if applicable)
• Two passport-sized photos (white background)
