Apply Online:

  1. To get a Certified Nurse Assistant License, the applicant has to register, take and pass the Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA) Exams.
  2. Registration for the Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA) Exams are done onlineby visiting the Dubai Healthcare Authority Portal.
  3. Upon entering the portals homepage, click on the “Register” tab to register for an account on the DHA online portal. This will direct you to the next page where you are to start your registration process.
  4. Fill in the required information and click on the “Register” button to complete the registration
  5. Log into your email address and confirm your registration by clicking on the “Complete Registration” button, in the email which has been sent to you.
    • This will direct you back to the Dubai Healthcare Authority Portal.
  6. Please edit your profile by adding your Personal and Professional details, Uploading your Photograph and Changing/Setting your password.
  7. Upon updating your profile, click on the “Services” tab in the menu on the left pane , and select “Services for Individuals/Patients”.
  8. On the service for Individuals page , click on the “Category” button to and select “Academic services”.
  9. The applicant should proceed to choose “Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA) Exams” for Certified Nurse Assistance license and click on the “Next” button.
  10. On the next page upload all the required documents and click on the “Submit” button. A list of the required documents can be found in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  11. Upon entering the next page the applicant should confirm that all the information given is correct and click on the “Submit Application” button.
    • This will cause an authorization letter and invoice for payment of the application fees to be generated.
  12. The applicant should download the authorization letter, sign it and upload it back with their particulars and date and click on the “Next” button. This will direct the applicant to the invoice page.
  13. On the Invoice page click on the “Click to Pay Now” button to pay for the Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA) Exams.
    • Proceed to make the payment using the instructions given online. The Payment instructions will be generated and displayed automatically in the portal. More information about the licensing fees to be paid is given in the “Fee” section of this page
  14. Upon making the application payment, a payment receipt will be generated online. Click on the “Download Receipt “ button and print the receipt and keep it for reference.
  15. Click on the “Complete Application” button to submit your completed application for evaluation.
  16. The applicant should then wait for 6 weeks for the evaluation of their credentials.
  17. Upon successful evaluation the applicant will receive an email to validate their application.
  18. After validation, the applicant will be required to pay for the Primary Source Verification which entails DHA verifying the applicants educational qualifications, experience certificate, and professional license.
  19. The applicant will be sent an email with a link to pay for the primary source verification. The fees to be paid are mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
  20. Upon making the payment, the applicants educational qualifications, working experience, and professional qualifications will be verified by the issuing authorities.
  21. After the applicant is deemed eligible by the issuing authorities, the applicant will be required to write the Dubai Prometric exam which costs 260AED.
  22. The applicant will be issued with an “Eligibility Letter” after passing the Prometric exam. The Eligibility Letter is used to apply for the Certified Nurse Assistant License.
    • Your eligibility letter is only valid for one year from the date of passing your exam.
  23. The applicant should then log into their the Dubai Healthcare Authority Portal to make the application for the Certified Nurse assistant License.
  24. Upon entering the home page, click on the “Services” tab in the menu on the left pane , and select “Services for Individuals/Patients”.
  25. On the service for Individuals page, click on the “Category” button to and select “Licensing services”.
  26. The applicant should proceed to choose “Certified Nurse Assistance License” and click on the “Next” button.
  27. On the next page upload the Eligibility Letter and click on the “Submit” button.
  28. Upon entering the next page the applicant should confirm that all the information given is correct and click on the “Submit Application” button.
    • This will cause an invoice for payment of the application fees to be generated.
  29. On the Invoice page click on the “Click to Pay Now” button to pay for the Certified Nurse Assistance License
    • Proceed to make the payment using the instructions given online. The Payment instructions will be generated and displayed automatically in the portal. More information about the licensing fees to be paid is given in the “Fee” section of this page
  30. Click on the “Download Receipt “ Button and the “Download License” button to download the payment receipt and Certified Nurse Assistance License respectively.
    • Print the receipt and license and keep the for reference.
  31. When the hard copy license card is ready the applicant will be contacted through a telephone call or SMS to collect their license.
  32. On the collection date the applicant will have to produce the claim receipt and proof of identification when collecting their license.

  • Verifications from all jurisdictions where the applicant practiced or where the applicant has been previously registered.
  • Registration certificates from each jurisdiction where the applicant has practiced and/or been registered – if the applicant’s country operates state registration, they will need to have registered in each state where they practiced.
  • Employment references confirming their good health and good character. (Two employment references confirming the applicant’s post-registration practice of at least 12 months, their competence and character.)
  • Transcript of training for all relevant nursing or midwifery programs completed by the applicant. These must be calculated in hours or be accompanied by a letter from the training institution with a key to how the credits translate to hours.

EligibilityEdit

  • The following are the minimum requirements for eligibility of a certified nurse assistance license:-
    • Professional Qualification: A High School Diploma or hold a Certificate of high school equivalency; and Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant Program from an accredited institute/college/university.
    • Have Clinical Work Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of work experience as a Nursing Assistant. Professional License “A” current license/registration to practice as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
    • Have a Certificate of Good Standing (CGS) : Issued in the last six (6) months from jurisdictions (licensing authority/professional membership body) in which the Applicant holds current license/registration to practice.
    • Have passed the English Proficiency Test: Required if the graduate’s education was not taught in English. TOEFL – a minimum score of 550; or IELTS – a minimum band of 6.0 or equivalent.
    • Have passed the DHCA Nursing Assistant Licensing Exam
