Apply In Person
- To Register a Clinic, the applicant has to approach the Uganda Medical Association link
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Then the application will be processed further.
- The officer will review the application and may request additional information or clarification if necessary.
- The Medical Council may require you to attend an interview to assess your knowledge and competence. This interview aims to ensure that you meet the required standards for medical practice in Uganda.
- Upon completion successfully, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
- Regularly review and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, licenses, and permits. Stay updated with any changes in laws and regulations related to healthcare clinics in Uganda.
- This entire process can be completed within 3 – 4 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

EligibilityEdit
There are a few requirements that you need to meet to be eligible to register a clinic in Uganda. These include:
- You must be a registered medical professional with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council (UMDPC).
- You must have a current Annual Practicing License (APL) from the UMDPC.
- You must have at least four years of working experience in your field of specialization.
- You must have a copy of the guidelines for private practice from the UMDPC.
- You must open your health unit under your area of specialization.
- You must have a valid registration certificate from the Allied Health Professionals Council (AHPC) if you are a laboratory technologist or a clinical officer.
- You must have a valid registration certificate from the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC) if you are a nurse or a midwife.
