Procedure

In-Person Application

1. Start by visiting your respective National Water & Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) office nearest to you and get entered into the process with the following:
   • Two passport size photographs for individuals or a corporate stamp.
   • Proof of ownership of the property or a copy of your tenancy agreement if you are a tenant
   • A copy of your identification card.
   • A letter from the Local council chairperson.
2. Approach the service desk and request for the application form read through the instruction carefully and fill it accurately and submit it to the attending staff
3. You’re information will be processed and entered into the NWSC data base and booked for a survey , a surveyor will then be sent to the customer's premise to determine the material requirements.
4. Connection expenses are then calculated by the surveyor based on the connection type (water or sewage), distance from the mains, whether it’s a new connection or separation of the account.
5. The customer will then give a payment advice slip and pays new connection fees, whose amount depends on the size of the service for instance a half inch, three quarter inch or a one inch connection.
6. Upon payment of the connection fee you will be booked for the connection date , a plumber will be sent to the customer premises to proceed with the connection plan
   
   

Online application

1. Visit the NWSC website portal and click on apply online
2. You will be redirected to the next page read through the instruction carefully and fill it accurately, upload all the required documents and submit your application
3. You’re information will be processed and entered into the NWSC data base, a surveyor will then be sent to the customer's premise to determine the material requirements.
4. Connection expenses are then calculated by the surveyor based on the connection type (water or sewage), distance from the mains, whether it’s a new connection or separation of the account.

Fees

• The customer will be given a contention connection fee

Validity

• The water and sewage connection is valid forever as long as one pays monthly bill, failure to pay your bill will lead to disconnection of the service

Instructions

• Upon connection of water and sewage by the NWSC the customer will be required to pay the water bill on time enables one to enjoy water services, failure to pay your water bill in time will led to disconnection of the water at your premises
• Payment of the water bill can be done via bank, mobile app or the NWSC branch office

Required Information

1. Full name of the applicant
2. Occupation of the applicant
3. Residential address of the applicant
4. Location of the premises
5. Phone /email address of the applicant
6. Nationality of the applicant
7. National identification number of the applicant

Need for the Document

• Every person in Uganda has the right to clean and safe water in adequate quantities and to reasonable standards of sanitation as stipulated by the Constitution of Uganda
