Procedure

IN PERSON:

1. You can apply for a Tourist Visa on Arrival in Uganda at the point of Entry such as Entebbe International Airport.
2. Head to issuing authority office, with the required documents and recommended fee, the official will verify if all documents are in order and then issue you, you’re visa

ONLINE APPLICATION

1. Visit the ministry of immigration website portal Apply Onlineapply read through the terms and conduction and click on Accept to begin your online application
2. Step 1 is select the type of application; under visa or permit type drop box select “Visa” and under category drop box select Uganda ordinary/Tourist Visa and under subcategory drop box the computer system will automatic single entry then click on Next
3. Step 2 you’re required to filling the application form read through the instruction carefully fill the form accurately
4. Step 3 you’re required to upload all the required documents
5. The finally step is submitting your application form by click on “submit”
6. Once all the documents and application form are verify ,Your visa will be processed and email to you

Note:

• Assuming you get the go-ahead before your visa is email to you, an approval letter will be sent as an attachment to the email. You’re advised to print this travel authorisation and keep this with your travel documents and make a note of your application number
  

• Upon arrival to Uganda (at the selected point of entry) or to the Immigration Office Headquarters, you will be inspected by an Immigration Officer who may determine if your application is finally approved. 

Via Embassy/consulate application:

• You send your passport to the Ugandan Embassy/consulate with overnight mail and have a return envelope inside for them to use to return the passport to you

The payment MUST be done online, the application will not be processed until the payment is done. All the online payments are subjected to a 3% surcharge fee.

At the airport:

There’s an ATM at the airport and a forex.

Instructions

If you are travelling to Uganda and applying for a Ugandan visa online, you are advised to:

Apply at least ONE MONTH prior to travel. (However, some applications are approved in hours, others days, some not at all… if you apply too early, it may even get cancelled and there’s no guarantee you will get your money back).

Be prepared. You need to complete the online application in one sitting. The online application does not allow you to save your information and return to the screen later.  Have these ready: a copy of your bio page of your passport, a recent passport photo, and Yellow Fever vaccination certificate. • Full names of the applicant
• Nationality
• Passport number/place of issue/date of issue/expire
• Date of birth
• Email address /residential address
• Age/gender/marital status

You may be subject to administrative or criminal penalties if you knowingly and wilfully make a materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or representation in an electronic visa or permit application submitted by you or on your behalf.”
