Apply In-Person:
- Renewal application for a Coffee Roasters License is done in person by visiting the Agriculture and Food Authority Board Head Offices in Ghana. Refer the following link - contact link
- Licenses issued by the Authority expire on the 30th June of every year and license holders wishing for renewal thereof may apply by 1st June preceding the expiry of the license.
- A coffee roasters license holder shall be renewable by 30th June of every year upon payment of the renewal fees.
- Application form should obtain the respective office.
- Also, make sure that the applicant has all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
- Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
- The completed renewal application form submitted to the respective office.
- This will be followed by an inspection of applicant by the Board field Officers.
- After investigations the board’s field offices will submit their findings to the county coffee working group.
- The coffee working group will make recommendations on the renewal application and forward their report to Board Headquarters for the ultimate Board approval.
- Once the license processing is done the renewed coffee roaster License is posted to field offices for collection by the applicant.
- Renewal license takes a maximum of 30 days to process.

- Application form
- Copy of current coffee rosters license.
- Individual National ID/Passport Number. and GRA PIN number.
- Names of company directors, individual National ID/Passport Number, Pin Numbers
- Tax compliance certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (GRA) for the Company
- Compliance with statutory requirements, including but not limited to, EPA certificate (where applicable) Safety and Occupational Health Certificate (where applicable) and Business Permit.
- Audited book if accounts and returns of the current year.
- Any other requirements that may be prescribed by the Authority from time to time

- License fees GHS. 10,000 (paid annually)
ValidityEdit
- The license is valid for a period of one year.
- The license expires on the 30th June of every year.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- A coffee roasters’ license authorizes the holder to conduct the business of roasting coffee for local sale or for export
- No person can carry out business as a coffee roaster unless he has a valid Coffee Roaster’s License. Therefore one needs to renew their license to continue with operations.
Information which might helpEdit
- Coffee licenses in the coffee industry expire by the 30th of June of every year and license holders apply to the Board for renewal one month prior to the expiry.
- Applicants can deliver or send hard copies of the application to the Coffee Directorate offices countrywide. Details of the various offices can found in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
- In Ghana No person shall, for commercial purposes of buy, sell, pulp, mill, warehouse, export or otherwise deal in or transact any business in coffee unless he holds a current license issued by the Authority or the respective County Government for that purpose.
