ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To Renew Clearing and Forwarding Agent Licence, the applicant has to approach the Commissioner for Customs and Excise Department of Tanzania Revenue Authority Link
  2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  4. Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
  6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  7. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as mentioned in “Fees” section of this page.
  8. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
  9. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  10. The applicant will be processed further. Once all gets cleared the authority will issues the renewed license.
    Note: Only shortlisted applicants for customs agents licenses will be contacted through TANCIS and Public Notice for Interview.
  11. This entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

  • Completed application form
  • A recent passport size photograph (not more than one megabyte) of directors and staff duly certified by a Notary Public or an Advocate (for new applicants and for renewal only where there are changes)
  • Letter(s) from guarantor(s) confirming renewal of bond securities (for renewals
  • Certificate of Registration for clearing and forwarding issued by TASAC
  • Proof of affiliation or membership to a recognized clearing and forwarding association.
  • Valid customs license for the preceding year.

EligibilityEdit

  • Any Clearing and Forwarding Agent company that intends renew their Clearing and Forwarding Agent Licence is eligible to make this application.



FeesEdit

  • The applicant has to pay the non-refundable application fee of fifty (50) US dollars.



ValidityEdit

  • The validity of the Clearing and Forwarding Agent Licence is one year. i.e., 1 January to 31 December
