ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. Application for getting a license for water and sewerage in Tanzania is available in Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority contact link
  2. Applicant must procure the application form for this service from the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority.
  3. Applicant has to enter all necessary details in the application form.
  4. Applicant must carry photocopies and originals of all documents that are required for completing this procedure.
  5. Documents that are required for completing this procedure is mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. Applicant has to attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form while submitting.
  7. Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.
  8. If all above-mentioned procedures were followed properly, the license will be provided within 1 month.
  9. Applicant will be notified regarding the availability of license, after getting the notification; the applicant can visit the office for collecting their license.
  10. If there is no notification provided by concerned authorities, the applicant can visit the office to know status of their application.

  • CLASS I: License which shall be issued to a licensee who has a financial, technical and managerial capability to operate a licensed facility and recover all costs of operation.
  • CLASS II: License which shall be issued to a licensee who has technical and managerial capability to operate a licensed facility and recover all costs of operation except part of its investment cost.
  • CLASS III: License which shall be issued to a licensee who still gets financial, managerial and technical support from the Government and partially recover its operational costs.
