Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. For converting or exchanging foreign driving license, the applicant has to visit Tanzania Revenue Authority contact link
2. Applicant has to procure the prescribed application form for this service from the Tanzania Revenue Authority.
3. Applicant should make sure to carry photocopies and originals of all documents that are necessary for completing this procedure.
4. Documents that are needed for this procedure is mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Fee for this procedure is 43,000 TZS.
6. If all the above-mentioned procedures were followed properly, the converted license will be provided to the applicant within 1 week.
7. Applicants will receive a notification from concerned authorities regarding the availability of the license, they can visit the office for collecting their licenses.
8. If there is no information regarding their license, applicants can visit the office to know the status of their application.

• Foreigners must take up a driver test from concerned authorities in Tanzania to get their license.
