Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. Application form for getting a permanent resident permit is available in Tanzania Immigration Head Office contact link
2. Applicant must provide all information that is requested in the application form.
3. Applicant should carry both photocopies and originals of all the documents that are needed for completing this procedure.
4. Documents that are needed for completing this procedure are mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Applicant should attach all required documents (both photocopies and originals, whichever is necessary) along with the application form before submitting them at the office.
6. Fee for this procedure can be paid as per authority’s request.
7. If all these procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the permanent resident permit will be provided within a stipulated period of time.
8. If there is no information regarding the permit is provided within the stipulated time, the applicant can visit the office to know status of their application.

Apply Online

1. Application form for getting a permanent resident permit is available in the following link
2. If the applicant is a registered user, they can login using their “E-mail Address” and “Password”.
3. If the applicant is a new user, they have to register first by clicking on the “Create Account” option.
4. Applicant should provide their “Email Address”. “Mobile Number”, create a new “Password”, “Confirm Password”, “Postal Address”, and select their entity under “Applying Entity.
5. Then, they should click on “Create Account” for creating their account.
6. After creating their account, the applicant can login using their “Email Address” and “Password”, and then by clicking on “Login”.
7. After logging in, the applicant has to click on “Apply for Permit”.
8. On the next page, applicant has to “Select Permit Type”, “Permit Category”, “Grant”, “Processing Office”.
9. Then, the applicant has to click on “Start New Application”.
10. On the following portal, the applicant has to provide all details in the “Personal Information” portal and click on “Save and Next”.
11. Then, the applicant has to provide information under “Address and Profession”, “Passport Information”, “Dependents”.
12. Applicant has to upload digital copies of all documents that are needed requested and click on “Save and Next”.
13. On the next page, applicant has to confirm the declaration.
14. Finally, the fee for this procedure can be paid online and the applicant has to click on “Submit” for submitting their application form.
15. A confirmation mail along with the application number will be sent to the registered email address of the applicant.
16. The applicant will be notified regarding the availability of the permit via Email.
17. If there is no information regarding the permit is provided, the applicant can visit the office to know status of their application.
