Registry Office - In Person

  • Family record documents are obtained from the civil register office in your place of origin. For non-Swiss citizens, you can submit your request to the civil register office in your place of domicile or place of residence, or from the civil register office in your last place of domicile.
  • Submit a request by completing an application form. Be ready to present a valid ID in case the civil registry officer asked for it.
  • It will be good if you would call the Registry Office first before you go there, just to make sure that you have all the documents needed in applying for the procedure. Use the link provided under "Office Locations & Contacts" to get the contact details of your local Civil Registry Office.
