ProcedureEdit

  1. Complete the form Application for an EU Blue Card for work in Sweden for applicants currently outside Sweden, no. 181011, and hand it in to a Swedish Embassy or Consulate General in your country of residence. Get in touch with your embassy or consulate-general before you go to their office.
  2. If you have a valid EU Blue Card issued in another EU country, you may submit your application in Sweden. In that case, use the form Application for an EU Blue Card for work in Sweden for applicants currently in Sweden, no. 183011, and submit it to one of the Swedish Migration Board Permit Units.
  3. In most cases applicants will be asked to pay a fee.
  4. If your application is granted you will receive a residence permit card with 'EU-blkort/EU Blue Card' printed on it. This card is your proof that you are permitted to stay in Sweden, and it has your fingerprints and photograph.
