Apply by Mail:
- To Apply for Registration of Medical Technicians in Phlebotomy, the applicant must go to the Health Professions Council of South Africa’s (HPCSA) office Contact Link
- The application form must be obtained from the authorities at the HPCSA office, else the application form can be downloaded from the official website linked here Application Form Link
- Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The application form must be filled with all the necessary details, and along with the required documents, it must be sent via registered mail or through courier service to the HPCSA office.
- The mail or the courier must address to the Registrar of the HPCSA.
- The application will then be verified by the official at the HPCSA members.
- If the details and the documents submitted by the applicant is valid and legitimate, then the Phlebotomy Medical Technician registration will be approved by the officials at the HPCSA.
- Then the applicant will be issued with the registration certificate as a physical copy as well as electronic copy of the registration certificate will be sent to the applicant email.
- The registration fee must be paid along with the application which is R840.00, and the receipt must be attached along with the application.
- The complete fee details are given in the “Fees” section of this page.
- The processing time to register as a Medical Technician in Phlebotomy will be intimated after applying.

- Form 25 duly completed confirming registration as student medical technician for 24 months Form 25 Link
- Proof of payment.
- A copy of identity document or birth certificate.
- A copy of marriage certificate (should you wish to register in your married surname).
- A copy of registration certificate as a student with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.

- Annual Fee – R710.
ValidityEdit
The validity period of the Phlebotomy Medical Technician registration will be mentioned in the registration certificate issued to the applicant.
