Apply Online:

  1. To Obtain Fidelity Fund and Registration Certificate, the applicant must go to the Law Society of South Africa’s official registration website linked here. Online Link
  2. If the applicant is a “New User” then they must register themselves with the “Email and ID number”.
  3. After registering, the applicant must “Login” using the “Email, ID number, and Password” given while registering. Login Link
  4. After logging in, the applicant must select the “Financial Module” and on the pop-up page, the applicant must select the “Year Code” for which they would like to generate the certificate.
  5. Then the applicant must select the “Firm” option.
  6. On the upcoming options the applicant must select the appropriate options and update the details using the “UPDATE” option on each field.
  7. On the “AIIF Questionnaire” option, the applicant must fill the “General Information” asked on the portal.
  8. Finally, the applicant must select the “Confirm and Submit” option and select the “yes” option given in the drop-down option.
  9. Again, the applicant must go to the “Home Page” and select the “Certification” option.
  10. Then must select the “Year Code” for which they would like to generate the certificate.
  11. Then must select “Select the member” option, then the name appearing on the right of the screen. Now the “Select Member” and “Linked Firms” tabs will turn blue with green ticks.
  12. The applicant must then verify the information under member by scrolling at the bottom of the window.
  13. The applicant must carefully check the “PMT Course” and “Certification Payment” option.
  14. For PMT course to pass the test, the colour coding must either turn to green (meaning completed or exempted) or blue (meaning due in the future).
  15. Also, the certification payment must have a green colour coding.
  16. Then the applicant must go to the “Linked Firms” and should verify that all the firms that are linked and for which audit reports are required.
  17. The applicant should complete the application form until the end (this is in respect of all the firms linked to).
  18. Then must select the “Submit Application” to submit the completed form.
  19. Now, the applicant should go to the “Issue Certificate” option, and must verify and acknowledge the details given on the page.
  20. Finally, the applicant must select the “Request Certificate” option to generate the certificate.
  21. Then the applicant should go to the “Home Page” and select the “Firm/Member Administration” option.
  22. Under the option, the applicant must select the “MEM” option. In that option, all the details should have turned into “green colour”.
  23. Then the applicant should select the “Certificates” option. All issued certificates since inception of FFC system will reflect on that page.
  24. The applicant can select the certificate that they require and can also download, and/or view and print the certificate by selecting the “DOWNLOAD CERTIFICATE” and “VIEW CERTIFICATE” respectively.
  25. The Fidelity Fund Certificates can be registered and downloaded immediately after entering the necessary details on the official website.

EligibilityEdit

  • Any legal Practitioners (attorneys and advocates with trust accounts) are eligible to obtain a Fidelity Fund certificate.



FeesEdit

  • The annual fee for the Fidelity Fund Certificate registration – R345.00.



ValidityEdit

  • The Fidelity Fund Certificate is valid for a year. Every year the certificate must be registered by paying the annual fee to the council.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • All the attorneys and advocates must compulsorily obtain a Fidelity Fund certificate each year.
  • Without this certificate one is not permitted to practise in SA. The certificate is issued on behalf of the Fund by the Legal Practice Council.
