Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Obtain Approval of Industry Waste Management Plans for Paper and Packaging Industry, Electrical and Electronic Industry and Lighting Industry, the applicant must go to the Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment office in South Africa. Contact Link
2. The applicants must submit the waste management plan to the DFFE department.
3. The industry producers must submit the waste management plan within 30 days from the date of notification given by the government.
4. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. The waste management plan of the business must be submitted within the stipulated time for verification.
6. If the Minister is satisfied with the Waste Management plan of the industry, then it will be approved by the Minister of DFFE.
7. After the approval, the minister will issue the registration number to the producers of the respective industry through electronic system details given by the applicant.
8. There is no fee for this process.
9. The waste management approval decision will be given within 60 days from the date of submitting the plan.

Eligibility

• All producer, recycler, collector, processor, reclaimer, recycling advocacy associations or entrepreneur in relation to a waste stream are eligible to apply for the approval application.

Fees

• There is no fee for this process.

Validity

• There is no validity for this process. The waste management approval must be obtained whenever the government insists.
