Procedure

Apply In Person

1. To obtain Water Plumber License, the applicant has to approach Public Utilities Board contact link
2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the authority officer or the applicant can download the application form given here application form
3. Applicant has to fill all the necessary details in the application form. Incomplete application forms are not accepted.
4. Make sure the applicant has the all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies along with application form and submit the application form to the relevant officer.
6. The authority will review the application, and the applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as per the authority request.
7. The applicant will be required to attend a 3 days course which will be conducted by PUB. Upon completion of the course, the applicant required to sit for a written and oral assessment. Upon passing the assessments, a licence will be issued within 4 weeks.

1. To Obtain water plumber license, the applicant has to make the application in GoBusiness licensing portal or tap the following link
2. The applicant needs to login with their Singpass Id number and password

Note:

• The applicant has to provide the general information and application details.

• After successful submission the applicant has to pay the Licence Fee of $ 90 via credit or debit card.
• The applicant will be required to attend a 3 days course which will be conducted by PUB. Upon completion of the course, the applicant required to sit for a written and oral assessment. Upon passing the assessments, a licence will be issued within 4 weeks.

Eligibility

• Possess a Builder Certificate/Advanced Builder Certificate in Plumbing & Pipefitting or Trade Diploma in Plumbing Technology issued by the BCA Academy; or Nitec in Facility Technology/ Nitec in Built Environment/ Higher Nitec in Facility Management issued by ITE; OR
• Diploma or Degree in Civil, Building, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering disciplines with at least a Builder Certificate in Plumbing & Pipefitting (Practical) AND
• At least 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience or concurrent experience. You must show proof that you were working under a licensed plumber’s supervision during that period.

Fees

• Fee to obtain plumber license is $ 90.

Validity

• The validity is forever.

Instructions

Handymen without a licence can do the following simple plumbing works:

Water Service Works (Potable Water)

• Replacing or removing any tap or mixer.
• Replacing or removing any of the following accessories connected to a tap,
• A shower hose or a showerhead
• A connecting hose with a spring-loaded self-closing nozzle
• A connecting hose to a washing machine or a dish washer or
• A flexible hose.
• Replacing or removing any pipe between a stop valve and an instantaneous water heater.
• Replacing or removing any of the following parts of a flushing cistern:
• Any flushing mechanism
• Any flexible hose after the ball valve.

Sanitary Works (Used Water)

• Installing, replacing or removing
• Any washbasin or sink, including any bottle trap or fitting trap below the washbasin or sink
• Any bathtub, shower tray, or shower enclosure
• Any floor waste outlet or
• Any pipe conveying sullage water into a floor trap.
• Replacing:
• Any floor trap grating or cover or
• Any floor waste grating or cover.
• Installing, replacing or removing any urinal, including any fitting trap or any pipe connecting the urinal to a urinal trap.
• Installing, altering, replacing or removing any pipe for or appurtenance related to the conveyance of industrial effluent within the industrial premises.
• Clearing any blockage in any floor trap, water closet or sanitary appliance.
• Clearing and flushing any discharge pipe, ventilating pipe, drain-line, fitting, floor trap, inspection chamber, grease trap, pump or any other appurtenance related to the conveyance of sewage or sullage water from any sanitary appliance or sanitary facility to a sewerage system.

Need for the Document

• Any person who wishes to carry out water service work or sanitary work in any premises, requires a license. Only licensed plumbers are allowed to carry out the water service and sanitary plumbing works.
• It is an offence for an individual to carry out or offer or undertake any regulated works unless the individual is a licensed plumber or the individual acts under the direct supervision of a licensed plumber.
