Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. Applicants shall visit the office of ICA in person.
2. Refer the office contact details in the “Office contacts & Locations” section below for address details.
3. Collect the application form from the office.
4. Now complete the form with the necessary information and make sure you have all the documents in hand that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. After filling the form, attach the documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below with the completed application form.
6. Check the application form and then submit it to the concerned authority.
7. Now pay the required fee to the concerned authority.
8. After receipt of payment, a collection slip will be issued. Once it is processed, the ICA will inform the applicant.
9. The applicant will be required to carry the collection slip when going to collect the document.
   

Apply In-Person through Singapore Overseas Mission

1. Applicants shall visit the nearby office of embassy which is Singapore Overseas mission.
2. Refer the office contact details in the “Office contacts & Locations” section below for address details.
3. The embassy will help you to forward the application to the Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA)
4. Collect the application form from the office.
5. Now complete the form with the necessary information and make sure you have all the documents in hand that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. After filling the form, attach the documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below with the completed application form.
7. Check the application form and then submit it to the concerned authority.
8. Now pay the required fee to the concerned authority.
9. The officer after validating the application form and the documents will provide you with an acknowledgement/receiving slip.
10. Once it is processed, the embassy will inform the applicant.
11. The applicant will be required to carry the acknowledgement/receiving slip when going to collect the document.
12. If you would like to receive the citizenship certificate by mail, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope.

• Your Identity Card
• Your birth certificate (the original document and a photocopy)
• Your recent passport-sized, colour photograph taken within the last three months.
• A letter requesting a replacement Citizenship Certificate
• A completed statutory declaration, available at the Registry of Citizens, Citizen Services Centre in ICA Building

Eligibility

• The applicant should be a Singapore citizen
• The citizenship certificate is lost or damaged
  

Fees

The fee is S$20 which can be paid through NETS or CashCard.

Validity

The certificate is valid forever unless it is renounced.

Need for the Document

It is a proof of citizenship for a person in Singapore.

Information which might help

• A new photograph should be submitted when a new application is made.
• Photographs which are printed must be on a matte or semi matte finish. (a non-reflective photo).
• Your photograph must fulfil ICA’s rules. If it fails to meet these requirements, it will cause delay or result in rejection.
