Obtaining a Foreigner's/Alien's Identity Card
- Gather documents needed to obtain a Foreigner's/Alien's Identity Card.
- Fill up and submit the application form along with all other required documents.
- Pay all necessary fees.
- If all documents submitted are compliant, the Ministry of Interior will issue a deposit receipt which will be valid for a period of 6 months. At the expiration of that period, the applicant must remove the card or apply for an extension of the validity of the receipt.
- It may take over a year for the application process to be completed.
Renewing your a Foreigner's/Alien's Identity Card
- Gather documents needed to renew a Foreigner's/Alien's Identity Card.
- Fill up and submit the application form along with all other required documents.
- Pay all necessary fees.
For lost or stolen Foreigner's/Alien's Identity Card
- You will need to obtain a certificate of loss.
- Documents needed to obtain a replacement Foreigner's/Alien's Identity Card are the same documents you need to present when you renew your card.
- Fill up and submit the application form along with all other required documents.
- Pay all necessary fees.
Required DocumentsEdit
- A written application for authorization of establishment to the Minister of the Interior
- A birth certificate, not older than 6 months
- An extract from the judicial record in the country of origin, not older than 3 months
- A medical certificate issued by a doctor in Senegal
- Three passport photos
- A certified copy of passport including pages featuring photo, date of validity of the passport and arrival stamp in the country
- Documents stating source of income in Senegal
- A revenue stamp of 15,000 FCFA
- The receipt of payment of the repatriation deposit (the amount varies depending on the applicant's country of origin)
- For pupils and students: Certificate of attendance, a certified photocopy of the student card or certificate of Award confirmed by the embassy of the country of origin in Senegal.
- For employees: Certified copy of the contract of employment stamped by the Regional Inspectorate of Labour and Social Security.
Notes:
- Students, technical assistants and religious are exempt from paying stamp duties and repatriation deposit.
- Gambian citizens are exempt from paying the repatriation deposit.
