Obtaining a passport
- Gather all the necessary documents.
- Fill up a passport application form and submit it along all other required documents
- Pay the passport application fee.
- Your application to obtain an ordinary passport will be processed within two weeks.
Renewing your passport
- An ordinary passport is valid for a period of 4 years. You will need to present your old passport during the renewal process.
- Pay the passport renewal fee.
In case the passport was lost or stolen
- You must make a statement of loss. Report the incident to the police station that covers your area of residence.
- Gather all other documents needed to be presented to obtain a new passport.
- Fill up and submit a passport application form.
- Pay the passport application fee.
Notes:
- Applications submitted by individuals seeking immediate medical treatment abroad are given priority.
- For Senegalese nationals residing abroad, please contact the embassy or diplomatic post of Senegal in the country you are currently staying for your passport inquiries.
Required DocumentsEdit
- Original and a certified copy of the national identity card. For children under 5 years old, provide a birth certificate dated within three months instead of the national identity card.
- Three coloured passport photos
- The receipt issued when the passport fee was paid
- For minors:
- Parental Consent
- Certified copy of the national identity card of the father or mother of the minor, accompanied by a certificate of acceptance charge issued by the mayor or justice.
Note : Pupils and students must certify their status by showing a valid student card or a certificate of attendance.

FeesEdit
Passport application fee : 20,000 FCFA
Passport renewal fee: 20,000 FCFA
The passport application fee is payable to the management of Domains Registration and Stamp.

Need for the DocumentEdit
A passport is a document, issued by the national government. It certifies the identity and nationality of the holder for travel abroad. It contains information about the holder; like name, gender, date and place of birth.
This document does not in itself entitle the passport holder entry into another country, nor consular protection while abroad nor any other privileges. However, it does normally allows the passport holder to return to the country where the passport was issued.
Rights to consular protection arises from international treaties, while the holder's return to the issuing country depends on the laws prevailing in that country.
