Need for the DocumentEdit

  • A baptism certificate is a certification that states information about the person getting baptized – such as the time and place. Usually, parents baptize their young children/children, but one can be baptized at any age.

Information which might helpEdit

Baptismal Certificates are often required in the following cases:

  • When the applicant enrolls the child in a faith-based school. A baptismal certificate is often needed because some schools include religious subjects in their curriculum and perform religious rites that require student participation. Knowing that the child's beliefs are aligned with the school is important and may determine whether the child will be allowed to enroll or not.
  • When the applicant decides to get married in a church (often in a catholic church), the parish where you would like his/her marital rites to be held will need to check first if the applicant is a member. Presenting the baptismal certificate proves that the applicant are indeed baptized as a catholic.

Other uses of the Document/CertificateEdit

Please explain what are other uses of obtaining this document/certificate.
