Apply Online:
- To Apply for Social Security System (SSS) Membership, the applicant has to make the application online via the following link
- Click "Apply for an SS Number Online" button and click on "No SS number yet? Get it here!"
- On the next page, a step-by-step guide will be shown along with some reminders. After reading it, if you think you are ready to process your application click the “Start” button which will take you to the Registrant Record Verification Form. Fill out the form.
- After you have completed the form, tick the certification button and then submit your application by clicking the “Submit” button.
- A confirmation link will be sent to the e-mail address that you have provided on your application.
- Open the email sent to you by SSS and click the link to continue with your online SSS number application.
- The link will redirect you back to SSS’s website where you will be asked to complete the basic information and contact form.
- After completing the basic and contact information form, indicate the reason why you need a SSS number by ticking the appropriate button (under Purpose for Registration). Once you are done with the form, click the “Next” button.
- On the next page, provide information about your social status and details about your birth. When you are done with the form, click the “Next” button.
- Next, you will need to provide information about your benificiary(ies). Click the “Next” button when you are done.
- After completing all of the online forms, you will be taken to the summary page which contains all the information that you have provided in your application. Review the form and make sure that all the entries are correct.
- For the last step, click the “Generate SSS Number” button to receive your SSS number.
- The system will generate and show you your SSS number. Print your e-personal record (you will need to submit this later on) and your SSS number slip.
- Also, you will receive an email confirmation which contains your SSS number and instructions on how you can complete your SSS number application.
- To complete your registration, you will need to go to any SSS branch and submit your printed e-personal record together with all the required documents.
- Note: the SSS membership status will be set to "Temporary" until the necessary supporting documents are submitted to the nearest SSS Branch. Once accomplished, the membership status will be made "Permanent."
- This entire process can be completed within 15- 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
Apply In-Person:
- To Apply for Social Security System (SSS) Membership, the applicant has to approach the Philippines Social Security System offices link.
- Note: The applicant has to select the region and branch from the drop-down menu to find nearby offices.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.Or the applicant can download the application form from the following link
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
- Then the application will be processed further. This entire process can be completed within 15- 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

- Applicants must complete the application form before submitting it. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
- Applicants must provide genuine information while applying for this procedure.
- If the applicant applying for an SSS number as a surviving spouse or guardian aged 60 and up for the Annual Confirmation of Pensioners program, they can submit any of the secondary documents along with a recent photo and age.
- If the applicant is married, they must also submit their marriage contract when registering.
- If the applicant is reporting legitimate children, please provide their birth or baptismal certificates. The birth certificate must include the annotation "legitimate."
- If the applicant is reporting legally adopted children, please include the adoption decree. Lastly, provide the additional requirements below if they are reporting an illegitimate child.
