Procedure

This service allows the equivalency of higher education certificates issued by educational institutions from outside the state with higher education certificates from within the State of Qatar and obtaining them electronically according to the rules and conditions of the educational certificate equivalency system.

Apply Online

1. The first step in making the online application is visiting the Online Portal for Equivalency of Certificates and Prior Approval by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education MOEHE Website.
2. Once here, click on the LOG IN icon to log into your account if you have already registered.
3. Login with the username and password you received through SMS. If you do not have an account register a new account by clicking on the :New User? Register Now? link.
4. Once logged in; Select the university degree equivalency service from the list of services.
5. Click on “Create New Application” Option to initiate the equivalency process.
6. Enter the required data and attach the following required documents:

   • Official certificate equivalency request.
   • QID copy
   • Passport copy
   • Previous qualifications
   • Language Certificate: Proof of the studying language in case it’s not the same as the mother language.
   • Foundation Year: For UK alumni students
   • Transcript
   • Graduation certificate
   • Academic visas
   • Authorization Form: Download it from the site, fill it out and attach it.
   • Prior approval letter
   • Acknowledgment form for not obtaining prior approval (in case there is no preapproval)

7. Review the information to ensure that everything is okay and proceed to make the required payments using a credit/debit card and print the acknowledgement receipt.
8. Click on “submit” button to send the application for processing.
9. Once the equivalency is done; the applicant will be notified to collect the equivalency report through SMS and email.
10. You can print the equivalency certificate from the Online Portal for Equivalency of Certificates and Prior Approval, by logging in and accessing the certificate online.

Eligibility

• Individuals who have higher education certificates issued by educational institutions from outside the state of Qatar are eligible to make the application for equivalency of the education certificates.

Fees

• A fee of QR 300 per equivalency is charged for this service

Validity

• The equivalency is valid forever.

• In order to verify the validity and integrity of certificates and degrees that have been issued by institutions abroad, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has established an equivalency system. Under this system, the Ministry considers equivalency applications and issues decisions after verifying the legitimacy of the degree or certificate.
