Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To start a share holding company, applicant has to visit the commercial registration and licenses department at the MOCI office.

3. Applicant has to visit the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and obtain the application form from the respective officer.
4. Applicant has to check for the trade name availability as the first step. If available, applicant can register the trade name at the official company registry.
5. To register a trade name, applicant has to submit a service request to the public service officer at MOCI or any of its branches.
6. After receiving your trade name, now complete the form with necessary information and make sure you have all the documents in hand that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
7. After filling the form, attach the documents mentioned in the required documents section below with the completed application form.
8. Check the application form and then submit it to the public service officer in the commercial registration and licenses department in the MOCI office. The address is mentioned in the office locations & contacts section below.
9. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
10. Authorities will inspect the facilities that are related to the share holding company and if they are satisfied with the standards followed the authorities will provide the franchise permission.
11. The applicant will be later requested to collect the share holding company License on a specified date.

2. Copy of personal identification of partners, applicant and authorized signatory.
3. Approval of the entities concerned with commercial activities, in case the activity requires approval.
4. Articles of association documents attested from the Ministry of Justice.
5. Copy of Qatar ID card.

• A shareholding company is a company whose capital is divided into tradable shares that are equal in value. Shareholders shall not be liable for the company’s debts and liabilities except to the extent of the value of their shares.
• Print out the articles of association document via the Investor Services, then fill it out and get it certified from the Ministry of Justice, before adding it to the other attachments.
