Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To start a general partnership company, applicant has to visit the commercial registration and licenses department at the MOCI office.

3. Applicant has to visit the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and obtain the application form from the respective officer.
4. Applicant has to check for the trade name availability as the first step. If available, applicant can register the trade name at the official company registry.
5. To register a trade name, applicant has to submit a service request to the public service officer at MOCI or any of its branches.
6. After receiving your trade name, now complete the form with necessary information and make sure you have all the documents in hand that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
7. After filling the form, attach the documents mentioned in the required documents section below with the completed application form.
8. Check the application form and then submit it to the public service officer in the commercial registration and licenses department in the MOCI office. The address is mentioned in the office locations & contacts section below.
9. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
10. Authorities will inspect the facilities that are related to the general partnership company and if they are satisfied with the standards followed the authorities will provide the franchise permission.
11. The applicant will be later requested to collect the general partnership company License on a specified date.

1. To start a general partnership company through online, visit the following link: Online Portal
2. If you already have an account, please enter your user id and password then click on “login” button.
3. If you don’t have an account, click on “new user” option.
4. Read the general instruction carefully and click on “I Agree” button.
5. In the next page, if you have valid Qatar Residency please choose “yes” from the dropdown menu. If you don’t have valid Qatar Residency please choose “No” from the dropdown menu.
6. In the next page, please select the document type from the dropdown menu. Then enter the appropriate details from the applicable field and click on “Next” button.
7. Now complete the form with necessary information and click on “Next” button.
8. You will receive an SMS with the verification code to your registered mobile number.
9. In the next page you enter the verification code and click on “Next” button.
10. In the next page you can upload the required documents then enter the required information and click on “Next” button.
11. In the next page acknowledgement statement is available, read it carefully then select the checkbox and click on “Submit” button.
12. Now you will receive an email with a case number and a verification link. Verify your email using that link. Then visit the nearest MOCI office and submit the case number to the respective officer which you have received in your email and SMS.
13. After submitting your case number, officers will verify and activate your new user.
14. After successful login, please select “Trade Names” option then select “Reserve Trade Name” option.
15. Choose company trade name and enter institution basic data then click applicable option.
16. In the next page, you can upload the required documents mentioned in the required documents section below then click on applicable button.
17. Once you complete this, you will be redirected to a screen in which you can review your information.
18. After reviewing your information, pay the appropriate fees to have the commercial registration and Qatar Chamber membership issued.
19. After successful payment, now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
20. Authorities will inspect the facilities that are related to the general partnership company and if they are satisfied with the standards followed the authorities will provide the franchise permission.
21. The applicant will be later requested to collect the general partnership company License on a specified date.

• A general partnership company is a company formed between two persons or more. The partners should assume collective responsibility in regard with their funds for partnership’s obligations.
• Local investors may submit a request to the Commercial Registration and Licenses Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) to start a general partnership company.
• Print out the articles of association document via the Investor Services, then fill it out and get it certified from the Ministry of Justice, before adding it to the other attachments.
