- Nationality and Travel Documents’ Department (NTDD) functions are related to implementing the laws of Nationality, ID Cards, and passports. All these services are provided by NTDD through its main office, or its sub-offices distributed around the country, in addition to the forms provided in MOI official website.
- The NTDD provides provisions for Qatari Passport holders who have lost their Passports to make an application for re-issuance of their lost Qatari Passport.

Step 1: Obtain a Police Report
- You should start by visiting a police station to report the loss of the Qatari Passport. You are to acquire a police report from the police authorities which is a prerequisite to making the application.
- You are to attach this police report with your application.
Step 2: Make applications with the NTDD
- To make an application for re-issuance of a lost Qatari Passport, one has to make an application at the Nationality and Travel Documents Department offices of the Ministry of Interior (MOI).
- This can be done by visiting the NTDD main office or its sub-offices distributed around the country
- Here you will be provided with an application form for re-issuance of the lost Qatari passport to fill and submit. The application form can also be obtained from the MOI Website or from the following link: Passport or ID Application form
- Fill in the application form, indicating that it’s a re-issuance application for the lost passport by ticking the appropriate boxes.
- Attach the required documents to the application form and submit it to the NTDD officials. These documents include the following:
- (i) Two recent passport size photos
- (ii) Copy of the lost passport (if available)
- (iii) Police report of the circumstances around the loss
- Pay the required fees and submit the payment receipt for the new re-issued passport. A fee of QR200 is charged for the application.
- Once you make your payment, the NTDD official will guide you through the application verification process.
- Once the application is verified that everything is okay and all of the required information is obtained, your application be processed and you will be contacted to pick the new passport once it is ready.
Apply Online
- The first step is to log in with your smartcard to the e-services portal of the Ministry of Interior (MOI) by clicking on the MOI Services tab and selection the E-services option.
- If you do not have an account with the MOI e-portal, you have to register for the services using your smart card.
- Once logged in, click on "Qatari Citizen Services” on the dashboard then click on the "Qatari Documents” link.
- In the next step, select that you are making a re-issuance application for a lost Passport.
- Fill up all the required information in the online application form and upload the required documents.
- Choose your preferred delivery option of the re-issued Passport. You may collect the passport from the NTDD offices for free, or pay a fee to collect it from a post office, or have the passport delivered.
- Enter your cell phone number to receive a SMS notification when the passport is ready.
- Review information you provided to ensure that the information provided is okay.
- If everything is okay you can move on to pay the required fees. This is done by Clicking on the “Next” tab to move to the “Payment Details” page, then click on “Pay” to make the payment.
- Pay appropriate fees using a debit or credit card and submit your application.
- You will be notified once the processing of your application is complete.
- This takes a period of between three to five days.

- This service enables citizens and their children under 16 years old to submit an offline and online request to the Ministry of Interior (MOI) in order to issue or renew Qatari documents, or reissue lost or damaged ones, such as a Qatari ID and a passport.

- A passport is a document, issued by the national government. It certifies the identity and nationality of the holder for travel abroad. It contains information about the holder; like name, gender, date and place of birth.
- Possessing a passport does not in itself entitle the holder entry into another neither country, nor consular protection while abroad nor any other privileges. However, it does normally allow the passport holder to return to the country where the passport was issued.
- Rights to consular protection arise from international treaties, while the holder's return to the issuing country depends on the laws prevailing in that country.
