Apply In-Person:
- To Obtain a Private Pilot or Ultralight Aircraft License, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Communications and Transportation link
- The applicant will need to complete flight training at a DGAC-approved flight school or training centre.
- The training program will include both theoretical and practical instruction, covering topics such as aerodynamics, aviation regulations, navigation, and flight.
- The number of flight hours required will vary depending on the license type.
- The applicant must pass written exams administered by the DGAC. These exams test your knowledge of aviation theory, regulations, and safety procedures.
- After completing the required flight hours and passing the written exams, you will need to take a practical exam. This exam typically includes a flight test conducted by a DGAC-approved flight examiner. You will need to demonstrate your flying skills, including various manoeuvres and emergency procedures.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
- Once you have successfully completed all the requirements, you can submit an application for the private pilot or ultralight aircraft license to the DGAC. You will need to provide the necessary documentation, including your training certificates, medical certificate, exam results, and identification documents.
- This entire process can be completed within 15 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
