Apply In-Person:
- To Apply for Perfumery License, the applicant has to approach the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks link
- Establish a legal entity for your perfumery business. You can choose to set up a sole proprietorship, partnership, or company, depending on your preferences and business goals. Register your business with the Mexican authorities and obtain the necessary tax identification numbers.
- Ensure that your perfumery facility meets the necessary requirements for the safety, hygiene, and storage of perfumes. This may include having proper ventilation, adequate storage facilities, and compliance with local zoning regulations.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Ensure that your perfume labels comply with the regulations set by COFEPRIS. Include all required information such as product name, ingredients, warnings, and contact details. Packaging should also meet the specified standards.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number or through email.
- The officer may inspect your facility to ensure compliance with regulations. They may also request additional information or samples for testing purposes.
- If your application meets all the requirements and passes the evaluation process, COFEPRIS will issue your perfumery license.
- The license will specify the scope of your activities and any additional conditions or restrictions.
- This entire process can be completed within 20 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
