Apply In-Person:
- To Apply for Electrician License, the applicant has to approach the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) in Mexico link
- Typically, electrician licenses in Mexico require the completion of specific education and training programs. Enrol in an accredited electrical program or apprenticeship that provides the necessary knowledge and practical experience required for licensure.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Then the application will be processed further.
- In some cases, the applicant may need to pass an examination or practical assessment to demonstrate knowledge and skills as an electrician. The licensing authority will inform you of any such requirements and provide details on the examination process.
- If the application is approved and you meet all the necessary requirements, the licensing authority will issue your electrician license. The license will enable you to legally work as an electrician in your designated area.
- This entire process can be completed within 1 week or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

- Be a Mexican citizen or have a permanent resident visa.
- Be at least 18 years old.
